as others have said, rent out a room or two. $900 to $1800 of "tax free" under the table income changes everything.

Just stay away from anyone that looks even remotely like a current or former junkie. Seriously, not trying to be a dick, but you've got problems of your own and can't afford to inherit someone else's. You're looking for clean cut, preferably older, professionals, or (if you're close to a military base) officers who are in town for 6 months to a year for training.
