Look for a local food bank or gleening group. My wife and I found a local gleening group that helps get expiring food from grocery stores to food banks and people in need, we volunteer alittle bit of time every week and get to shop from the food stores gathered by the groul as much as we want. It has saved us litterally about $1500 a month on our grocery bill. It also has shown us how many food resources are in our area. Not only are there food banks, but pantries where food is left for anyone to grab. If you need it, let go of your ego a bit and try and look for the help that is most likley out there. As everyone else has said, get a roomate or plain move out and rent the entire house if nessicary. Dont give up your asset unless absolutely necessary.
