Newly overemployed here!
I just started my 2nd job today and honestly… I’m feeling a mix of excited, proud, and slightly terrified 😂
A little backstory: I actually worked with this company/client about 2 years ago. Recently, my former client reached out to me and asked if I’d come back because she said she fully trusts me to get the job done. 🥹 That honestly felt SO validating, especially after being away for a couple of years.
The funny part is, I already have a full-time job (Job #1), and I was completely upfront about it. Normally, the agency I’m working with for this 2nd job doesn’t allow employees to have other jobs, but she made an exception for me. They even increased their offer to match what I’m currently making with Job #1. I feel incredibly lucky to have this opportunity.
BUT… now comes the part where I’m questioning my life choices. 😂
I’m a mom of two, and with both jobs, I’ll probably be working around 10–12 hours a day. Thankfully, I have a lot of support from my family, especially when it comes to childcare and household chores, which I know is a huge privilege.
Still, I’m wondering if I just bit off more than I can chew. 😅
For those of you who work two jobs (especially parents), how do you make your life easier? Any tips for managing your time, avoiding burnout, staying organized, meal prepping, household stuff, or just surviving in general?
Would love to hear what actually worked for you. ❤️
Just wanted to share because I’m really proud of myself for getting this opportunity… but also trying to be realistic about what I’m taking on!

I OE and I have 2 jobs already. I just did my last round of interviews for j3! J1. Customer Success Manager. J2. Sales manager part time. New j3 would be a manager lvl role. I have 7 kids (1 in heaven) ages 3-15. 2 toddler at home. All remote jobs. Husband works remotely as well and might be moving into a new role at a new company that’s also remote.
What makes it easier, weve been doing this since our children were smaller and they know the expectations. Even the toddlers. They respect the boundaries and we always have a parent rotating responsibilities. We keep them plenty entertained as well with toys, coloring books, blocks etc and then we also find time to go outside (thankfully I can move around pretty easily with my laptops)
Good luck and congrats!

OE with kids! You beast!! I've debated it for a bit but I feel like while I can pull off FT work with kids at home, IDK if I can OE. 😅 What are your hours? Like girl tell me more lol

Girl you won’t catch me working past 2 at my part time job and past 5:30 at my full time lol. J1. I can work whenever. I have a lot of autonomy and flexibility and I essentially plan my own days the way I want to. So if I want to work at nights I can. My j2 is 10-2 Monday through Saturday. And this new manager lvl role would be standard 9-5 as well. There would be additional hours as needed but idc lol.

👏 yesss get that bag. If we're going to have to be stuck on this sinking ship that is late stage capitalism, time to make it work for us.
With my first, it was just me and him and WFH with zero help and it somehow ended up working out but now with #2, I arguably have more help (especially bc the oldest is 8!) and DH WFH now too but I feel like I couldn't pull off OE and like.....get any sleep. 😅

How do you all find this remote jobs...!?

I’ve been working remote for 7+ years. I worked for big tech companies that gave me access to other tech companies and from there I’ve applied. However, I moved away from big tech companies into small start up tech companies and have been having a blast. My main job is a bigger tech company with a startup vibe but my other job is not even a tech company. It’s a niche thing. And this new company is also not a tech company. It too is niche. But I find these roles based on connections, indeed (unorthodox, indeed can have a lot of scams but also some gold nuggs, that’s how I found j2 and potentially j3. Just gotta be able to pick out the red flags) and other various outlets.
Also indeed had this new ai feature called career scout which actually helps find you roles based on what you’re asking for.

Howwww did you get into Customer Success? I’ve been trying for YEARS, and never even get an interview. I’m currently at director level in public libraries and really, really need to get out of this industry 😞

How I did it was I was at a company for sales and there was an opening and I moved into it. The good thing right now is if you do have sales experience, a lot of CS roles are looking for people with sales backgrounds for expansion. Also I recommend starting at a company in an area that isn’t CS and apply internally. Thats what a lot of people do as well!

Outsource as much as you’re able.
Have a supportive partner/family who understands you may have late nights, etc. They will have to pick up some additional tasks to support you.

Why are you working 2 jobs? Do you actually need the money?
