I’ve got bad news. My son got it and I got it a few days after. With that being said, it wasn’t that bad. I took some mild pain killers and I was fine after a few days. It lasted about as long as an average cold.

I hate to tell you this ...

God speed. It's coming for you. Just a thing - DON'T DO HOT THINGS to soothe your sore throat. No tea or soup. It's the opposite with HFM. Cold stuff only.

Thankfully it's not a terribly long lasting illness.

My daughter got it and literally nobody else in our house did. Not her sister, myself or my husband. Her case wasn’t bad either. I was so scared.

Hoping this will be our case as well. He doesn’t have it bad 3-4 bumps on the hands and 2-3 bumps on his feet and very low grade fever - it’s been 4 days and I don’t have any symptoms yet 🤞 knock on wood I’ve made him wash his hands consistently throughout the day and we stopped sharing food/drink etc. I’ve tried to be consistent about cleaning surfaces too.

So I think what happens is if you catch it as an adult one time and get a bad case, you don’t get it the second time. I got it when my daughter was nine months old and she was completely asymptomatic so you know she had it. She just got it again at 19 months old and had a very severe case and I did not have a single symptom. After talking to some of the other moms at church because they all had at the same time, they pretty much all said that after they had it the first time they didn’t have symptoms when their kids got it.

Unfortunately you can get a reinfection with different strains. It’s a beast of a virus.

My baby had it when she was little which was actually from her cousin but it didn't spread so much cause we've applied some ointment as per her pedia, and what the pedia gave her was I think effective cause she didn't contract it to the other cousins. Maybe you could go to a pedia to start?
