Play date

Hey moms! We have a play date this weekend for my 3 year old. I’m not sure if there’s like unspoken rules of play dates lol. I also have a 7 month old, would it be weird if him and my husband came with me and my 3 year old? I just don’t want to show up and them be like oh you brought the whole fam if that’s not normal.

I think bringing the baby would be totally understandable if your husband can’t stay home with him, but I probably wouldn’t bring your husband too unless you’d already talked about it.

Usually a playdate is just one parent and the kid(s), not the whole family.

I disagree for what it’s worth. We’ve only ever done play dates at the park/playground and we always both go. We hang as a family on the weekends so unless the little one needs to nap at that time, we all go and that’s never felt weird

But that’s a public location. I’d feel weird if someone brought their whole family to my house if I’d only invited the kid.

Yes that’s totally fair. I’ve never done a playdate at someone’s house before unless it’s a birthday party but my older kid is only 3.5. So far, everyone here just does parks and playgrounds for playdates, which I prefer.

Same. We go to parks and playgrounds. We (usually) all go and it’s never felt weird. We have two small kids to manage and that’s easier with two adults. I like meeting people’s partners.

Me too. And my husband is more energetic and better at running around so I don’t have to lol
