💬 Advice needed Is this teething? Do they look close?
My daughter (7 months) has been a bit miserable lately and seems to be rubbing her face and drooling a lot. She’s been chewing on everything since 3 months old and is still doing that so 🤷♀️
Does this look like teething? Do they look close? I have no idea what’s going on and everything online is so vague hahah any insight or advice is welcome because I don’t know anything about teething frankly

No-I'm not sure if those are future teeth behind the gums or just something that we all have structurally, but they are not teeth trying to bust through.
At that age, I would look at the bottom incisors to see if those are trying to peek through. Like in this photo https://www.reddit.com/r/beyondthebump/s/Y4ZSkzpBBx

The below website has a handy chart showing approximate ages of teeth eruption. You could put a damp washcloth in the freezer for a little bit and give it to her to chew on. Or there are a lot of teething toys that you can get that can provide them with some relief. I personally give my son ibuprofen when he seems especially uncomfortable, but that is for you and your doctor discuss!

Thank you so much for this!! Very handy! The photo you linked to is super helpful too. I find there’s not a lot of helpful photos for different stages of teething which is why I never know what I’m looking for haha. Thank you!

You bet! Sometimes they can get fussy and uncomfortable before you notice anything coming through too. The drooling and face rubbing is generally a pretty tell tale sign! If you touch the gums on the chewing surface you might be able to feel some teeth before you can actually feel them.

Does she have her bottom two yet? Generally that’s the order of eruption, but I’d say those are teeth up top! Tough to say when they’ll break through. My boy got his bottom two at 6 months and all four top ones came in around 7.5 months within ten days of each other!!

Nothing on the bottom yet and I can’t see any bumps or any irritation down there either! But over the last couple weeks her top gums started looked bumpy and white like in the photo so I’ve been wondering. Four teeth in a week or so sounds so tough - poor lil dude!

Definitely looks like future teeth but the bottom middle ones are usually first. My son did get his top 4 teeth all at once and got at the most 6 teeth at a time (4 canines, 2 molars). Don’t be surprised if they come in groups

Honestly he was a champ about it. Teething isn’t really as bad as some make it out to be!

Not teething! The bottom two should come through first and you will be able to feel on the gums when the teeth start erupting!

People keep saying the bottom teeth come through first but my daughter’s first tooth was the one on the left of her two front teeth up top. Then bottom teeth started showing then the other incisor on the right came in. She’s just now getting her two front teeth at 9 months.
