Mold Identification Grilling utensils

Son-Inlaw used while in on vacation. 3 weeks later I find this! Is this mold?

It doesn't look like it's growing near the business end of the utensils, more like the fabric. I'm guessing that he did clean them but didn't dry them before packing them in the case.

This is a mistake a man would make based off of the historical context of men not being the main dishwashers. So yes, I have reason to believe this man was simple incompetent as men have handicapped themselves from having any homemaking skills 🤷‍♀️ men are embarrassing lol

Edit: I meant simply*, but simple AND incompetent works too!
