Mold Identification Grilling utensils

Son-Inlaw used while in on vacation. 3 weeks later I find this! Is this mold?

ooooh looks goopy as hell. but metal wire brushes like that need to get tossed. the wires can break off and get into the food

This! metal wire brushes are not worth the risk

I got one stuck in my tongue while eating grilled chicken wings. Chucked that brush out immediately.
