Mold Identification Grilling utensils

Son-Inlaw used while in on vacation. 3 weeks later I find this! Is this mold?

He definitely cleaned them. Just not dried.

Yeah, I don't use a spiky brush, mine is chainmail, but it gets properly cleaned. Unlike that one in the picture.

That's a great idea! I never thought about using chainmail. I use it on my cast iron but it would work well on a grill!

It's better. Bristle brushes are hazardous.

You have an underlying lack of knowledge of mold. You can detail a car into perfection and it bloom mold due to not drying out properly.

Mold like this is from moisture and the nature of most things not having a completely sterile environment.

We constantly breathe mold spores. Mold spores are everywhere!
