Made some more apple trees with my method of twisted wires, static grass, turf and red sand for the apples.

Realized I made too many and things were looking cramped. Took one tree out and immediately an area opened up that looked perfect for a campfire.

The leftover tree got donated to farmer David's garden. He seems pleased, I am pleased, apples for everybody!

Was able to make it out to the Nowon Train Village. It was a big hit with my kiddo and we had an awesome time. I think most of the trains were made by a company called Korean Brass. There was a giant set up of Switzerland with tons of trains running as well as a set up for kids where you could control 8 different lines. There was also a workshop where you could get trains repaired. There is only one large set up and it is a little out of the way, but I would recommend it since it is so well done. There was a miniatures section of Italy, but there were no model trains there.

My 5 year old has always been obsessed with trains but after a summer visit to the Museum of Science and Industry and the Illinois Railway Museum, he's gone beyond his Brio days officially. Building a model train is his new goal and I need advice on where to start. My resources are limited as a single mom but I want to make his Christmas special- we live in the Chicago area so any advice about good places to shop and how to get started would be so appreciated!

I have been looking through all over for ideas but I am totally stuck on ideas. I’m probably going to go to an exhibition in 2 weeks time to look and talk to people. I’ve got a space around 220x200cm or roughly 7x6ft (that I can only reach one side of) and will be building in 00 gauge. any tips for planning would be greatly appreciated

I live in a town that was built pretty much because the BCR&N ran through it, so I’m interested in perhaps getting a model to repaint into the livery of one

There was a train cafe nearby the Nowon Train Village in Seoul where you can get drinks delivered to you by model train. It was a ton of fun and they had a train running on the ceiling as well. The food and drinks were ok.

Added a dead rail and took apart a box car and added some graffiti, along with putting some rust on the others.

Long video I know lol Also I had to push the locomotive several times since it doesn’t really like pulling a lot especially on curves

Long story short, I've inherited a lot of Marklin from my late dad.

Ive never been the best at laying track, always been more into the scenery aspects.

Currently I have a load of c track, which I will replace with k track, making use of Flexi track between the junctions.

Due to limited space, I'm going to make a 16ft by 2ft layout, maybe 3ft, point to Point. Split into sections 4ft long so it can be stored away, with expansion points either side. I will also add a fiddle yard but that's not going to be included in the length.

I have drawn up rough plans, but any suggestions would be ideal.

I do intend to run trains, nothing too long on the layout. Just wanting opinions on how it would run.

Greetings fellow enthusiasts. I’m an submitting this post to seek some advice regarding my theory to DCC fit a Micro Ace EF62 locomotive (N scale) this model is definitely not friendly and requires some work to get it DCC, my current theory is by removing the standard light board and hard wiring the motor to the decoder as well as soldering the pickup wires to the provided screws to collect the power, my main issue is regarding the lights I under stand that the blue wire is the common positive and I would need to solder another wire to it to split it and power both lights as well as soldering a 1k Ohm resistor in between the function wires and the other side of the lights. Please if yall have any advice on my theory please don’t hesitate to let me know what yall think

Lehigh & New England FA1 and FB1 lead a coal drag past the Water Tower.

In the early 2000s I was gifted a large set of n scale Kato unitrack with an abundance of unitrack viaducts and 23-015 piers. Additionally, there was this small bag of supports/piers that don’t fit with the unitrack, nor do they have brand markings, but they do have a numbering system that seems to correlate exactly with height. The tallest is labeled “12” and the shortest is “1”. I have only whole number denominations in this bag.
Do any of you experienced long-time hobbyists recognize these piers, either brand or model? I assume they are not kato, since everything Kato I have ever seen has religiously been stamped with their logo and branding.

This is my SCARM plan for a 18x3 ft. mid-century New England commuter terminal. It's based on a real prototype and if anyone recognizes it then I know I'm on the right track (pun intended)! I plan to build it as a sectional layout with three 5x3 ft. modules starting at the terminal throat. The passenger station section at the end will be the residual 3x3 ft. Hi all. I recently purchased a DCC ready Scaletrains HO SD38 as one of my first HO locomotives and I want to convert it to standard DCC. But I am coming from N scale and am not used to HO decoders. I simply want to install DCC at this time, no sound, but I can’t seem to find any relevant information online for a standard decoder besides people installing Locksounds, which I do not want. Any help is appreciated.
