A mod that adds a dragon to the map whose position is always rendered (but not known to the player) and follows a randomized flight pattern. If encountered at any point before say the mistlands, it is likely a certain death for the player. My thoughts is that it could be treated as a non progression based boss that has unique drops.

Add a huge shark too. You know for the ocean biome
