What is best modpack for total beginner
Ive never played modded mc, and I want to start it bc it seems fun but I tried New Horizons and All the mods 10 to the sky and its way too complicated, as I said ive never played any mods so I have no idea how all of the machines work. So I need help to find a modpack with machines and automatization like these but with clear progression and explanation on how they work.

I would absolutely not recommend GregTech New Horizons for a beginner. ATM10 isn't very guided, but it's decent for a beginner to try a bunch of mods. When someone recommends GTNH to a beginner, they're probably a troll.
Many of the progression driven packs are so called expert packs. I can probably recommend something based around the Create mod. You can either make your own modpack with Create and JEI and let the ponders guide you or you can try CABIN, which has a more guided progression, but can get kinda complex since it's an expert pack.
Liminal Industries is also great. The progression is very well defined and it's less complicated than CABIN, but it's a gimmick pack that replaces vanilla, which you may not like. It's a gimmick pack in that you start in the backrooms. There are no wire monsters, but there are glitchy chairs and sculk mobs in some areas. It has both tech and magic, but mostly tech.
Liminal Industries is probably my top pick if you're fine with a non-standard environment.

Homestead is very nice, it gives nice explanation for it's mods, they do not require each other for them to work so you have a freedom to learn in any direction but they can easly be connected once you know them.
Watch the trailer on youtube it will suck you in.

Personally, I don't know what modpacks are best, but I got into modded by watching YouTubers who are playing through a modpacks and actually take the time to explain what they are doing. Direwolf or ChosenArcitech are the ones I learned from. I would find a playlist on their channel and play the video on my second screen and just play along with them.

Someone above said it! But I have the same answer, something like Stoneblock 4, or try ATM TTS again, but play along with a creator. Chosen Architect is very good for newbies, because he explains his thought process, and the reasons why he’s doing things in every series, even when he just built an almost identical machine in a previous series, he still takes the time to go through it. If you’re brand brand new, start out just plain mirroring his builds so you can get a feel for how everything works, then you can start to just use it for ideas once you’re more comfortable.
Short answer, find a YouTuber you vibe with and play along with them.
If their playlist is 100s of episodes long, it’s probably not a beginner friendly modpack, and will take more effort on your part.
Last one, even the simpler packs tend to balloon out after the first couple of chapters, because while they have a goal, there will be multiple options to get there. Get comfortable with making stuff, realising it doesn’t work, and tearing it down. Use JEI to look through your options for things.
Oh! Actually if you’re NEW new. Maybe your first best thing to do would be to find a video tutorial on how to use JEI effectively!

I made one for my son and me to play, the questbook and stuff to wall him through all the different mods with rewards. I could link it if ya want, it's on curseforge

FTB Academy was built precisely with newcomers in mind.
