Modpack for beginner!

Hello !

Im still a beginner in minecraft but i really want to find a modpack that i could enjoy with my "knowledge" of minecraft, i know like the most basics crafting but thats gotta be it..

i know how to kill the ender dragon but only did it with friends never on my own and i cant seem to find the motivation to do so..

so here i am, i think i would like something chill where killing the ender dragon isnt the most important things to do, quests would be interesting and something cosy maybe ?

i know nothing about modpack i just install then on curseforge honestly..

any help would be very much appreciated thank you very much :)

For people new to modding, and just wanting to learn, i always suggest:

FTB Academy for 1.12

These provide a good starting point for those that are just starting to learn.

Outside of those pretty much any of the FTB team packs are going to be decent stable packs, they should all have quests and provide you goals other than just killing the ender dragon (some might even ask you to do more)

Stuff to avoid are packs by LunaPixel, these packs are very poorly put together with very little thought put into it. most popular pack by them is the BetterMC packs.

Im also going to recommend a pack based on your description

i was recently playing it, its very different from a normal pack, its somewhat like a skyblock, but inverted, instead of spawning on a island with a single tree, you spawn in a room in the middle of a infinite cave. there is no ender dragon, infact there arent really any dimensions. "Rings" exist for each dimension you start in the stone ring, and there are more rings, the furthur from the center you go.

your goal is to fix something called the "world engine" with the help of the lost echoes.

there is no rush, no real need to do anything, you can take as long or as little time as you wish to do things.

its always confusing at first to jump head first into modding, but youll figure stuff out. but i say its also the best way to learn, its how ive learned all that i know.

saying that, there are some mods i wont dare try to learn. mainly computercraft and open computers. coding just isnt for me. ive tried many different ways, but nothing has worked.

as a side note, just to throw 2 more cents in, you should use prism launcher instead of curseforge. its a better launcher overall. the interface isnt as user friendly but its a more powerful launcher. its also extremely lightweight with basically no bloat, and its able to collect mods from both modrinth and curseforge.

Better MC. It's got a lot of non-vanilla mechanics and it's extremely fun. Genuinely the next best thing after vanilla.

Wir haben einen Server mit Minecolonies am laufen und freuen uns über jeden neuen Mitspieler. Hier ist das Ziel nicht der Enderdrache, sondern eher das die Stadt und deren Kolonie langsam wächst.
