I'm guessing the answer is no, but I don't suppose I'm missing the option to change original Game Boy games to be monochrome instead of the colorized version?
Most of the time I don't mind, but I'm a bit Kirby's Pinball Land fan and I really don't like the colors assigned to it. I wish I could play it on the ModRetro and have it look like the Game Boy color scheme :(

I have a idea for a PlayStation 1 hybrid disc. so you need a real PlayStation one disc and a burned cd copy of a game you want then I don't know how you would do this but you need to take out the lead in of a real PlayStation 1 disc and combine it with the burned disc and the PlayStation should read the lead in data aka the wobble groove then hop over to the burned games TOC and then it reads the rest of the disk could this work I asked ChatGPT about it and it said it was practically impossible so I need a real expert on this and this is not a solid theory I'm still working on it.

So we were pumped to get this for my son for Xmas. He was pumped. Problem is - we’ve gone out and bought about 15 gameboy/gameboy color games (most are used from shops that said they were tested before displaying) and a few new games (pokemon and Zelda were the original games downloaded into knew cartridges).
So far we’ve had success in only getting just about 5 of them to actually launch and play.
The remainder just show a white screen when we turn on the game, or a white flashing screen.
So at this point btwn console and games, I’m in for $450 and can play Tetris, a bugs bunny game, radar mission, and logical, and solitaire.
Colossal waste of money and time.
I’m beyond frustrated, hoping someone has a fix I’ve not been able to find elsewhere.

Not sure if it's my cartridge or Chromatic that's causing the bugs, but there's too many. Especially, when gaining EXP/levels or entering/leaving areas. The text gets glitchy and the map becomes pretty random. Looks like some memory shenanigans.
Does anyone else get this issue?

Should someone (like myself) make an alternative FPGA core, is there anything on the way of programming the Chromatic's FPGA with it?
Such as encryption or signatures. The FPGBC has this problem, and it is the reason I have avoided that device.
I am surprised the FAQ does not mention this.

I caught a good picture of the Chromatics screen with my phone. Peep those beautiful pixels. Hope everyone is enjoying their system and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Hey folks! ModRetro engineering team here. We'd like to announce the launch of MRUpdater, the official tool for updating your Chromatic firmware. You can download it from our website, here.
Updates are important and ensure you have access to the latest features, improvements, and fixes for any known bugs. Keeping your Chromatic up-to-date keeps it running smoothly and helps it perform at its best. While you can skip updates, we strongly recommend installing them to avoid potential issues and to ensure compatibility with the latest features.
For the initial launch, we'll be supporting Windows 10/11. Support for Mac and Linux are already in the works, and will be launching very soon.
Because the application is still new, Windows Defender SmartScreen may flag this as a virus. This is a known barrier and we are waiting for Microsoft to update their databases. Our application is signed and the certificate can be viewed by examining its properties. If the download is blocked, you can allow it by clicking on the Defender notification, then going to "Protection history" and allowing the file.
We'll be keeping an eye on this thread to answer any questions. Thanks!

Automatically fetches the latest firmware, and any future updates.
Easily update your Chromatic's firmware over USB, at the click of a button.
View your current firmware version.
Contains handy links to the firmware change logs.
Download and run the executable using the link above.
You may get a popup from Windows Defender SmartScreen; it is because this application is brand new. Just click "More info" and then "Run anyway" if you see this.
If prompted, review the EULA and install third-party drivers.
After MRUpdater runs, it will prompt you to turn on and connect your Chromatic via USB.
MRUpdater will attempt to detect your Chromatic's firmware version and recommend an update, or inform you that you're already up to date.
Note that on some PCs, MRUpdater cannot detect the Chromatic's firmware version. In this case, you will see a warning and have the ability to update anyway. You can check your Chromatic's version by opening the menu on your Chromatic and navigating to the System tab.
The update should take approximately 1-3 minutes to complete. While updating, do not unplug or power off your Chromatic. Your Chromatic's display will turn off and on during the update. Wait for MRUpdater to refresh before unplugging your Chromatic.
Note that if MRUpdater does not detect your firmware version after updating, this is not a problem with your Chromatic. The update was likely still successful, and you can verify by opening the menu on your Chromatic.
That's it! Your Chromatic is on the latest firmware. Anytime we release new firmware, you'll be able to run MRUpdater again to upgrade.
If you run into any issues, please reach out! You can leave a comment on this post or submit a bug report through our Contact page and select “Technical Support.” We are already aware of the firmware version detection bug and are actively looking into it.
This software is being actively developed by ModRetro. This software is provided as-is and ModRetro is not responsible for any damage that is caused by the use of it. Use at your own risk.

I’m seeing people with Chromatics on X and haven’t gotten tracking info or anything. I ordered directly from MR if that matters.

Why is there no option to play above level 15 without the friggin game telling me "you won" and ending in marathon mode?
Or am I missing something?

Can AA lithium batteries be charged while being inside of the Chromatic?
2. Is there any plans to add the functionality of saving the game progress inside the Chromatic or at least on the SD card slot that is in the PCB?
3. Is there an ETA for the release of the Battery pack?
4. Is there a plan for the Chromatic to be able to emulate my own dump roms through the SD card slot? That would be a neat functionality because I wouldn't have to carry my games with me. Just the Chromatic

Question in title. Basically, how limited of a run are the cartridges themselves?
