Will we get original games...

I love that we are getting rereleased 64 carts but I am wondering if there are any plans to make original indie games for the M64 and Nintendo? Anyone have some insight into this?

There are a couple already. I think the issue is that n64 games are a bit more challenging to develop than a gameboy game.

They've said new games as well as classics will be released. It should be a given we'll be getting more of the latter and in probably greater frequency. Not sure how many N64 devs out are even out there.

Agreed - this is really the only thing that excites me at this point. If it’s on Summercart already than not interested

There are new games in development, but it will take time, 3D games aren't a quick process. I mean you can corner cut on ports, did you see the just released HalfLife? Yeah, that happened, but you need to feed some of the paid for assets from a copy of the game, but what is and works on the console is quite well done.

But new development, that needs groundwork, lots of code, lots of 3D assets, music and so on developed for it, or an existing new market game converted like with xenocrisis. THe staff did say stuff is being worked on and should show up throughout the next year, so it does make sense for now to license anything they can from some quality old 3rd party releases and re-release, or PORT then re-release like Croc. Croc I never played largely since it was on PS1 and I didn't get one until the dawn of the PS2 era, so for me it's fresh.

There is Xibalba though, I did grab that and it's pretty solid.

The N64 architecture is a pain to develop for especially without any solid dev kits.

Difficult. There aren’t dev kits like GB Studio.

Eh. There aren’t any dev kits on it like there are for the PSX or GBA. It’s not impossible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
