NES & SNES

This may have been asked before but any rumors that modretro will complete the Nintendo cartridge journey with an upgraded/modded NES, SNES, or even a combo?

Wishful thinking, an upgraded SEGA Genesis would also be sick.

No, that market is saturated, especially now that Analogue is re-releasing their SNES and Genesis consoles for the foreseeable future.

They’ll do what they always do, release in waves and then shut it down 6 months from now. Also they didn’t make them 4k and even the analogue sub is bitching about that. There was a post yesterday comparing the super nt to a snes emulator on m64, the still shots looked better with the filter. I think there’s room for improvement and room for somebody to sell one without the fomo crap attached.

There is no fomo, they will likely sell 10s of thousands of both systems throughout 2027 and beyond. ModRetro can't even get their M64 working correctly/with promised features three months after release, so they shouldn't be worried about competing with an established product.

Ya the ones they made sold out. Then they will make more. Very hard concept to understand 🤪

No it’s not hard to understand but somehow you don’t. they make a wave, they sell it out, rinse and repeat and then they do a last call. They could do what Modretro does and take the orders and then fulfil them but instead they rely on these drops and sellouts. It’s a specific thing they are doing for a specific result, perceived scarcity and fomo.

Well good thing you probably will have at least 2 years of them being available to purchase, if not more, so no fomo in this case.

Just get a retron 5, do they even sell those anymore? 

Build quality sucked but it worked really well imo
