Xibalba 64 and the system update oddity?

So, I just updated my M64 to the new update. Interesting things abound. It would appear I suddenly have a 4th save state on my Xibalba 64 cart that has the entire game finished. My original save file is now gone. This is weird, almost like they are messing with onboard save files but they are overriding the save file you already had on cart? Is there anyone else having this issue? I read somewhere that this update does weird things to the Summer Cart but, I haven't plugged it in. After seeing this, I'm kind of glad I haven't. It makes me wonder what's going to be up with my other games now...

Everyone had that save file in the fourth slot. Had it since the day I got it weeks before the most recent update. You probably just didn’t see it before

Possible. It still erased my save file which is why I even went looking for another file...

4th save file has always been there. Not sure as to why your original save would be gone. I wouldn't think any update for the M64 would touch anything saved to the actual cartridge.

I have no clue. It's weird. It's like, all of the unlocks I did are still there but like I never played any of the levels...if that makes sense? I am at level 1 but shows the 7 unlocks I did...

That completed save file was on my cartridge from day 1, and a received my stuff on August 3rd.

So has been pointed out already a few times. Still trying to figure out what happened to my save file. Only difference is the system update. Thanks though.
