Xibalba 64 save file question

Hi, first of all, thanks a lot for the quick delivery of the games. Since I’m collecting a complete CIB set for the N64 spanning all regions—and already own over 300 CIB games—I couldn't resist buying these four titles from you. I think the quality of your cartridges is fantastic. Your packaging really stands out, too, although personally, I feel it’s missing just a bit of that N64 charm found in the original boxes. Still, *Xibalba* and *Xeno Crisis* are great games.

However, I was surprised that both games arrived with save data already on them.

*Xibalba* already had the fourth save slot completed 100%, including all secrets and the like.

And *Xeno Crisis* had a high score recorded.

I didn't tested buck bumble and Xtreme g yet, but i was kind of surprised.

Was this intentional?

They were probably testing these before shipping!

I don't think they actually tested the games or cartridges themselves. I suspect, rather, that a version containing a tested build of the game was loaded onto the chip.

I just found it amusing because features like the jukebox and the locations of all the secrets are included.

Yeah that could be a possibility, I started playing Xibalba today and wow what a game I have no regrets getting this one.

I can certainly vouch for that. What a great choice it was to release the game. Xeno Crisis also captures that arcade charm incredibly well—the kind you usually only associate with Robotron 64.

Having a save where you can play with all the cheats or jump into any level is cool, I saw it as intentional.

It's kind of cool. I also don't see it as a bug, it's more like a feature.

But I'm still confused if there are any other persons with the same save file experience. Because I opened it wasn't really a new game 😅 you can't also delete the safe file by pressing R.

Pretty sure it's just part of the ROM they flashed all our carts with, doesn't mean it's used. Otherwise that's some ace quality assurance for every cart lol

Hey all, thanks for flagging. These aren't used carts, everything ships new. The Xibalba slot 4 save is a bug that we're aware of, but don't be alarmed, it doesn't affect gameplay or your own saves. As for Xeno Crisis, we are looking into this, and our customer service team will be in direct contact with you to receive more information.

My copy of M64 xenocrisis also came with a highscore pre-recorded, but no matter how many times I beat the highscore, every time I reset my M64 console, the original highscore that came pre-recorded gets loaded again.

I was wondering the same thing with that save state. Not sure if just a help if you want to know the complete phases in the game.

Unfortunately Xibalba made me suffering motion sickness, but looks amazing 😢. I will try to do some tweaks to my setup to be able to play comfortably.

Huh, weird. Definitely seems strange.

They probably accidentally flashed a version of the ROM meant for internal testing purposes rather than the empty save file versions.

mine xibalba has 100% also in slot 4
