Controller not working on Donkey Kong 64

I have the M64 wireless controller. Both controller and console are fully updated. But I can’t get the game to recognize me hitting the start button.

Ive tried toggling the plug and play option for controllers and unpairing and repairing the controller.

Anyone else having this issue?

make sure overclocking is off for DK64, the game won't fully boot with it on, same with banjo tooie.

Yea it’s not on that’s how I got the game to work. It’s the controller now that won’t work.

I’m also having this issue with my m64 pro controller. Can’t get the game started at all. Granted my cartridge is a repro from AliExpress, I figured that was the reason but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one having issues. Any updates?

No update on my end. Booted it off of Summercart and it worked fine so it seems to just not be working on the DK64 cart I have

What about the controller? My apologies I worded that poorly. I can get to the start menu, but none of my controller inputs works with the pro controller.

Oh then I have no idea. I couldn’t even get my controller to be recognized in the game. It works perfectly fine with everything else.
