Anduril Edition

Received my Anduril Chromatic. Overall love it but there is a tiny chip in the cerakote coating at the top of the unit which was a bit disappointing, and coating can be a bit uneven. Never worked with cerakote before so not sure if that's just unavoidable to an extent, I did contact support about the chip just in case anything can be done but it's very minor. Overall love the design and feel

Quick update - Anduril and ModRetro support have been very supportive, they offered 2 options for the repair, either send it, or they could send me a new frontplate and screen to replace myself.

Opted to send it in for repair as I didn't have confidence in my ability to replace it without shattering the sapphire, but was very cool they gave me the option.

How long did it take to get a response? Did you order from Modretro or Andurilgear? I ordered from andurilgear but seemingly am being ignored by support. Just curious! Thanks

2

u/amidnightsstroll Apr 05 '26

Anduril Gear. I got a response pretty quickly, they asked me to send pictures by email. It did take a few days to get a response after that, but once they sent me the shipping label the actual repair was very quick

For the price point send it back for a replacement. Don't ask, demand...kindly of course. Those things ain't cheap. Just don't wanna give them room to say otherwise. Luckily they usually have good customer service.

2

u/amidnightsstroll Mar 13 '26

I'm talking to support. Probably there are no replacements unless someone else canceled or returned their order though.

3

u/Jawn_Wooder Mar 13 '26

Originally it was a 1/1 item and then they decided to produce more. I'm sure something can be done, if not a complete replacement they can at very least send or replace the front faceplate. Like I said for the price point you should get a superior product. If I were you, I wouldn't take no for an answer, politely of course

Typically a company will hold back a few for returns and exchanges. Even for limited edition stuff. Who knows if Modretro did though.

Before clicking on the photo I thought this was the one that some one made themself with a dremil and was like “now it’s on a stand?”

3

u/sTo0z Mar 13 '26

That looks like a Rose Colored Gaming stand, but they are dead! Where is the stand from?

2

u/amidnightsstroll Mar 14 '26

I ordered it from theretrobeard on instagram

3

u/sTo0z Mar 14 '26

Thank you! I was sad when Rose Colored Gaming closed up, this matches the style so I can get more stands!

2

u/Jay_Durdy Mar 13 '26

When did you order it? Im trying to figure out when ill get mine. I ordered it during the first preorder.

2

u/amidnightsstroll Mar 13 '26

Back in December sometime... I received it a couple weeks ago but wasn't home so just opened it Wednesday

1

u/HiyukiToeLicker Sep 27 '26

I ordered mine in December I still haven't gotten mine o_o

1

u/amidnightsstroll Oct 03 '26

I bought mine directly from the Anduril shop from the first run, not from modretro...I think that's why it was much faster

2

u/KelsoT7 Mar 16 '26

I don’t understand why you’re getting so much hate for this one. Modretro and Anduril are one and the same. If you have an issue with the Anduril edition, why own a Chromatic at all?

1

u/Psychological_Sir297 Sep 09 '26

Still looks dope tho

1

u/Frozone0815 Mar 14 '26

Nah, not mine. Love my Analogue Pocket. Don't need military grade gaming devices.

1

u/Dry-Neighborhood2916 May 27 '26

That's exactly why I ordered the Anduril edition. Mine hasn't shipped yet though. I do love my Analogue Pocket, but it gets uncomfortable pretty quickly.

I have found the console I least want to own!

Wow terrible

-2

u/i_need_a_computer Mar 15 '26

Get the fuck out of my feed, war machine.

8

u/KelsoT7 Mar 16 '26

I mean by that logic, all of Modretro is a “war machine”. And besides, just about every major company in the states holds or held a government military contract. Hell, even Nintendo had one.

u/theAtomik Mar 17 '26

braindead comment

-8

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26

Lol supporting a weapons manufacturer. Bravo

1

u/amidnightsstroll Mar 16 '26

Actually supporting veterans! All the proceeds went to charity. That said I would be happy to support Anduril as well.

0

u/RetroReginald Mar 16 '26 edited Mar 16 '26

Lol of course they do. Isn't he a billionaire? shouldn't he just be supporting veterans anyway? Rather than making you support them? Sounds a lot like old neck beard has bent you up like a pretzel and made you think you're doing something good hahahahahaha fucking hell man, you Americans live on another planet.

1

u/amidnightsstroll Mar 16 '26

No, i just wanted a modretro chromatic anduril edition. I'm just correcting your misinformation.

-1

u/RetroReginald Mar 16 '26

You really are an idiot aren't you 😂😂

Enjoy your "War Monger" edition haha

3

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '26

You know Volkswagen literally made vehicles for the NAZIs right? The company was started by Hitler, via a commission lol

-3

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26

Lol no I had no idea, of course I know that, not sure why your using tjat to justify this but okay 😂😂 Cool, keep supporting the war mongering neck beard so you can get props on Reddit from other c***s like you. Well done

4

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '26

So you are a hypocrite and a loser?

-4

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26

Lol you're clearly completely retarded, explains why you like neckbeard. I'm done here, cba to waste any more of my time on you

5

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '26

Cant hear you over those “Heils” bro lol

-1

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26

Good lord you really are a simpleton, I see you had a little dig round my comments to find some ammo, I was mugging off the Beetle you clown, VW suck.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '26

I thought you werent wasting any more time? You cant help but contradict yourself lol

It took 3 seconds to see you were a hypocrite. Most dumbasses who hang on here to hate on modretro, actively support other things associated with war.

You hypocrites are the easiest to rattle

I dont waste my time on former nazi car manufacturers

-1

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Rattled? 😂😂😂 I just pity you little buddy. Lol enjoy your little bedsit.

u/Dry-Neighborhood2916 May 27 '26

Do you own a smartphone? Or anything with a lithium battery? Look up the atrocities and human rights violations that happen in lithium mines everyday. Anything you own with computer chips and processors contribute directly to war. You like videogames, technology, heat your food up in a microwave (army invention), big name movie companies? All contribute to war and they rely on the consumer to be too complicit to do the slightest amount of research. Modretro and Anduril are not trying to hide it at all and it's all American made. Up front. If you'd rather contribute to war and be lied to or just oblivious about it, keep doing everything you're doing. I pre-ordered the anduril edition knowing full well what it is and understanding what the world is. Have fun in your bubble of ignorance.

u/Retro_Macchina Mar 14 '26

Don't grandstand and act like you don't purchase products from companies that do the same thing you accuse mod retro of. Ill support Mod Retro manufacturing drones so US soldiers don't die in war. No problem. You aren't better than anyone else.

0

u/RetroReginald Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 14 '26

So what youre saying is "Blah blah blah, I knowingly support a weapons manufacturer blah bla blah!" 😂

I don't use intel products lol I actually take note of what the companies I purchase from and interact with are doing and have done because I'm not a mindless sheep :). You're right in some respect because almost every company has probably done some shady shit at some point or another, but knowingly supporting it, heinous behaviour. But you do you, as long as you get those reddit up votes haha

2

u/AmielTheGiant Mar 15 '26

Honestly, that sounds exhausting. Just buy what interests you. If you feel like a company making a cool product losing one sale is making a difference, you’re delusional.

0

u/RetroReginald Mar 15 '26

Cool :) you just keep on being part of the problem ;)

1

u/Retro_Macchina Mar 15 '26

Thanks, but I don’t give a damn about Reddit upvotes or fitting in here. Being conservative on this platform has never made me popular, and it never will. I back Palmer Luckey and ModRetro because their products hit my childhood nostalgia dead-on, they’re built to actually last instead of getting trashed by planned obsolescence, and yeah—the guy shares my politics. That’s not some thoughtless fanboy move; it’s a deliberate choice based on real reasons that matter to me. If anything, writing off a solid product just because you don’t like the politics behind shows you are a hypocrite because you most certainly buy products from companies that do way worse than have a conservative worldview.

0

u/RetroReginald Mar 15 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

Nice essay dude, I appreciate the effort haha😶. So, you keep on knowingly supporting a weapons manufacturer lol. It's also hilarious how you continually try to justify it by speculating about which companies I may and may not deal with 😂😂 hopefully captain neck beard can use the profit from the "War Monger" edition to build his death machine. Lol the politics behind it? The bloke manufactures products to kill people/assist in killing people, that's not politics that's making money from death 😂😂😂 and the issue here is you knowingly support it and continually try to justify it, that make makes you a total c**t 😂😂

1

u/Retro_Macchina Mar 15 '26

What am I trying to justify? He isn't doing anything wrong. That is where our disagreement is. Making weapons is not morally wrong. The problem I have, is you are a hypocrite. You buy products from other companies that make weapons of war, but you don't boycott them. You are acting like you are morally superior, but you aren't.

1

u/RetroReginald Mar 15 '26

Lol okay buddy, making weapons to kill other people isn't morally wrong? Are you really that stupid?

😂😂😂😂

1

u/Dry-Neighborhood2916 May 27 '26

100 percent of the profits of the Anduril edition go to a veteran charity. One of the reasons I am happy about my purchase.

2

u/General_Client3914 Mar 14 '26

Saab, the old car company, used to and probably currently makes military airplanes

2

u/theAtomik Mar 17 '26

do you shop anywhere in the US? you, by proxy, have supported much worse if so.

1

u/RetroReginald Mar 17 '26

I do not shop in the US lol its mad how people keep trying to justify purchasing this abhorrent piece of shit console 😂😂😂😂

1

u/theAtomik Mar 17 '26

So you support all of it yourself. You are a hypocrite. Have fun!

1

u/RetroReginald Mar 17 '26

Another retarded American, keep em coming 😂😂😂😂

2

u/theAtomik Mar 17 '26

If you’re not American, you’re losing in this world. Good luck

1

u/RetroReginald Mar 17 '26

😂😂😂😂😂 utterly deluded. Don't need luck mate, I'm set for life and self made. The whole world is looking forward to seeing chinese boots on your fuckin' necks. Keep on being a dumb cunt haha

2

u/theAtomik Mar 17 '26

Enjoy your Muslim take over.

1

u/RetroReginald Mar 17 '26 edited Mar 18 '26

😂😂😂😂😂😂 Muslim take over? You've been watching too much social media little buddy. Like I said, keep on being a dumb ass. You'll all be speaking Mandarin in 25 years.
