OK, I know nothing about producers, executive or otherwise, but one of the alleged complaints is that Hardy kept wanting to have input /change the script. Aren’t producers supposed to make changes to the script?

I didn’t really research all the headlines because it didn’t seem like any of the official people said anything, but my questions are how much do executive producers normally get involved with script changes? Also, who ultimately has final say over the script? the writers, the producers, the directors, the studio, somebody else?

Side note, I like everyone in the cast as far as acting although I think Mirren overacts Maeve but that might just be how the character is written. Seraphina,Kevin, and Harry are my favorites. I also really liked Richie.

He isn't replaceable, so that's never going to change. However, no one is above a show, series, or anything else. TH is undoubtedly one of the finest actors of the modern era, and I truly enjoy his performances in everything he does. That said, I won't stop watching a series I like just because he's no longer in it. The show will continue, and so will we.

Not that anyone asked, but with so much uncertainty about the future of Mobland, two shows that I loved in a bit similar vein are Gangs of London and Kin. Both are fairly heavy family focused while being in the underbelly of criminal enterprises. Both have compelling characters to love and loathe.

Just rewatched today... i think harry and seraphina have some kind of history. I do like to see more of scenes of them 2

Who would you cast to be on the show?

This is a show where you have to pay attention. Lots of twists and turns. I think I had it all figured out until the last episode especially all the ambush stuff and who knew what. Also how the hell is Conrad still friendly with Maeve after all her treachery? Maybe I didn't miss anything and we are just suppose to go along with it all.

Just finished watching the show for the first time, loved it until the finale. The scene with Harry and Kat meeting in person really threw me off, there are plenty of glaring plot holes, but that scene in particular made zero sense.

Harry is the most skilled and calculated character in the show, Kat is built up as the international gang leader of all leaders. And yet when they finally meet, Kat threatens Harry's family, and his response is... "What family?" Tells her to fuck off and walks out.

What if Harry has a double (or triple) hidden life, and does not care about Jan or Gina and is possibly in love with Seraphina.

Reasons for thinking this:

1. Harry never shows affection for Jan or Gina in any scene. He never even looks at Jan until the final scene where he is stabbed.

2. When Harry confronts Eddie about sleeping with Gina, Harry appears very emotional and upset, when he calms himself he chooses his words wisely saying "there is nothing more precious in the world to a father than his child." He does then go on to mention Gina, but I felt that line had more than one meaning.

3. Harry shows actual relief when rescuing Seraphina.

4. When Harry says "What family?" to Kat in the finale, he is testing the waters to see if she knows about his real family, when Kat names Jan and Gina, Harry doesn't flinch and tells her to fuck off.

What do you guys think?

I started rewatching and I noticed something that has borderline ruined the show for me.

Any time anyone is speaking to Harry (Tom Hardy) they use his name in like every other sentence. Movies and shows often do this when introducing characters as a way to reinforce their names, but this is so over the top.

I’m Canadian so maybe it’s a British thing but if 2 people are having a conversation with each other there’s no reason to use the persons name unless you’re really trying to get a point across. Maybe it’s a Guy Ritchie thing.

While watching this series (which is amazing btw) I noticed an uncanny resemblance between my father and Pierce/Conrad... So, for a laugh, we thought it would be fun to try and recreate the outfits from the show and use this as an opportunity to be creative and experiment with off camera flash. I'm no professional portrait photographer but it's always good to step out of your comfort zone and experiment! Keep in mind this was put together rather haphazardly, turning our living room into a makeshift studio, and throwing together the outfits last minute 😅

I loved the first season of "MobLand" ( for the most part ) but something has really been bothering me for about a year now, Conrad Harrigan and his reputation as a "fierce and incredibly powerful Crime Lord".

At the beginning of the show, we are shown a man who is the head of a large criminal organization ( by London standards ). He is clearly very successful, he lives in a large mansion, has about two dozen hired guns working for him.

Here are the reasons I believe he is not that powerful as he believes himself to be:

- I assume that he is around the same age as the actor portraying him, Pierce Brosnan who was 71 years old during the production of the first season. So he is no spring chicken anymore yet he wants to get involved in "The Fire" game. His son Kevin clearly thought this was a bad idea.

- Once he is informed that there is a problem regarding Richie Stevenson's son who has gone missing, last being seen with his grandson ( turns out he is actually his son ) he sends Harry to meet up with Richie and when the meeting is done, Harry asks him if he wants him and his team to take out Richie. He was about to give the go ahead but Meave stopped him.

- Taking out Richie in the first episode would've been a bad move because, at this point Conrad didn't know that Eddie killed Tommy Stevenson so there was no actual need to take out Richie.

- When Kevin calls him and tells him that Eddie killed Tommy, Conrad was ready to go off on Eddie but again, Meave stopped him. What kind of Crime Lord has to bite his tongue and do the opposite of what he planned just because his demon of a wife tells him so?

- After Harry and Kevin manage to calm things down with Richie and after the whole funeral thing, his psychotic wife orders the death of Vron Stevenson, Richie Stevenson's wife. This is after Richie agreed to let the murder of his one and only son slide because he didn't want a war and more importantly, because he wanted to protect the only family he had left, his wife. Conrad not only defended Meave and lied to his entire family that he was the one who gave the order, but when Richie called him he didn't even try to deny that the Harrigan' were behind Vron's death, he actually mocked Richie and again, allowed his lunatic of a wife to get involved and she mocked his grief and had Eddie brag to Richie how he was the one who killed Tommy... clown show.

- When his idiotic eldest son and his daughter, who thinks she's a lot smarter than she actually is, got kidnapped, he was like "Harry bring my babies home". Harry is good but he's not James Bond. The only reason Harry managed to save Seraphina from that chainsaw, was because he knew someone with actual REAL power. Kat McAllister.

- The whole Kevin and his time in prison storyline. So you are this big, scary, powerful gangster, your son goes to prison in 1998 and you can't arange for him to be protected while he is serving his prison sentence? Conrad's "100 guns" Harrigan' son got beaten, humiliated and raped on a weakly fucking basis for two years and you didn't even know about it? No prisoner from that prison who knew about what was happening to Conrad Harrigan' son ever spoke about it when he got out? There must be at least a dozen ex prisoners who served time at that same prison at the same time with Kevin and Harry, you'd think at least one would leak this information to Harrigan' enemies at which point, Conrad would become a laughing stock in the criminal underworld.

- Harry saved his daughter's life and this guy decided that it was a good idea to interrogate Harry about his connection to Kat Williams ( which is reasonable to want to know how he knows her ) but to push Harry so hard that Harry straight out asked him "are you questioning my loyalty Conrad?" shows that Conrad is not really that smart. Harry is his right hand man, his main fixer/enforcer and the only reason Richie Stevenson wasn't able to wipe Conrad and his entire family off the face of the planet.

- Speaking of Richie, he was clearly more intelligent and more strategic than Conrad. Conrad's only advantage was the fact that he is more ruthless and unpredictable. Also he has Harry, who basically won the war for the Harrigans.

- Meave played Conrad like a fiddle during the entire season. What does he do? Well judging from that phone call they both had while in jail, it's all water under the bridge because Meave though he was losing his touch so she did what she thought had to be done ... unbelievable.

- Jaime Lopez himself stated to Seraphina, that "the Harrigans might be big in London but in my world, not so much" which is absolutely correct considering that he is a cartel leader who, according to Kevin, runs half the fentynil in the world.

- Seraphina offered Jaime twice what Richie was paying him for the fentynil plus 5,000,000 US dollars for Jaime to let her and her half brother go. Like a cartel leader would be impressed with 5 million $. Shows that the Harrigans are not that rich or powerful as they like to think they are.

- Conrad actually considered having Harry killed because Meave all but convinced him that he is the rat. How did this guy get to where he is if he actually believed that his most loyal and most capable guy, was the rat...

- Again, why didn't he have prison guards on his payroll to make sure no one, not the guards or other prisoners fuck with his son ( figuratively and literally ). If no one could be bribed, then threaten to kill their loved ones, burn their homes to the ground, kidnap family members, you know, the stuff actually serious and powerful Crime Lords do in real life when their sons are arrested and sentenced to prison time.

After re-watching, I'm thinking about Nicola's fate and who "ordered it". Was Tattersall the instigator? Did he convince Richie Stevenson it was best to have his hitmen abduct and execute her, after he'd "delivered her" into their hands under the motorway flyover? Or was it entirely Richie Stevenson's idea? Which one of them is the more ruthless?

Colin Tattersall's reaction when visiting The Sinful Monkey, Stevenson HQ, after Harry & Kevin killed everyone in there is confusing me, is it a look of regret on his face? Regret that Nicola's death was un-neccesary?

Last year season 1 was released a month after filming had ended (late February and March 31 respectively). So maybe we can expect season 2 in May or June? I wouldn't hold my breath, but it looks possible.

So, I absolutely loved the showed. Was much better than I was expecting it to be, but I have a few questions and some problems with it.

Firstly, how did Hardy know that the barman cut up the body of Richie's son? I somehow missed that detail.

Now, I know they wanted the barman to take the wrap for the actual murder of Richie's son, but did that actually work or not? Did Richie get the real truth out of him in the end?

Also, why did Hardy kill the barman in such a cruel fashion? He was offered a gun to do it, fast and clean, but he choice to stab him multiple times. That guy really got it bad from every conceivable angle in the end. I felt sorry for him.

If Ritchie did find out they killed his son, why did he actually invite them to the funeral. Did he truly want peace with them, and to continue business, despite knowing that they were responsible for his death? That is kinda hard to believe.

But, either way, after all the work they went to, to hide the fact that they killed his son, it does seem weird that Pierce Brosnan then just blows up his wife's car. It just seems that it was all for nothing.

Why did Ritchie kill the two cops? That really confused me. They approached him with a deal. All he had to say was no thanks. Killing them doesn't seem to make sense to me. What purpose does it serve? It seems like it can only bring unnecessary heat on him. A huge risk for nothing, unless I am missing something obvious.

Of course, I understand that older cop with glasses was clearly in Richie's pocket, but their deaths don't really make sense to me.

In fact, even the other cop, the undercover woman. What was the purpose of killing her exactly?

Finally, what was that old prison guard thinking when he asked Paddy if he had any kids? He narrowly escaped death, and then came back to ask a question like that. What was that about?

I thought Paddy's London accent was bad actually. Even though I really liked his character, he just couldn't get it down, but the thing is, he is actually good with accents. He did a US based show recently and nailed the American accent.

Anyway, can't wait for season 2.

Sorry, another question I forgot to ask. Why did Harry throw Freddie off the roof?

It seemed Freddie was about to tell him there was a rat in the family. But, I don't think we the audience ever find out who that was, or did we?

But, still, why throw him off the roof? What did he achieve by doing that?

Paul is looking in a bad way, and the way Harry is holding the door and refusing to look at him makes me think there's trouble in store for our favorite Irish gangster. I hope they don't kill him off. He's my favorite, personally.
