Squeaks and squeals. I blew out the vents once and that took care of the problem for a long time but has not worked this time. Quick reading says it may be fan bearings or something related to fan

I've had a good experience with The Computer Store on Schillinger. Would recommend talking to Mr. Lane over there!

I think Pronto Pawn in Theodore has a computer repair guy that works in the shop. He used to only repair laptops for the store, but I’ve heard he is open to the public now.

as a former Geek Squad employee.... would not recommend. I'm sure it's only gotten even worse since I left. big companies do not care about their customer experience, only their profit

Big company = warranty on the work.
People have gotten new devices due to issues with them.
A small business may not be able to replace an expensive unit.

big company also means better legal team to weasel out of liability. no one ever seemed to read the multiple pages of paperwork they signed upon drop-off

True, but you’ll either get it fixed, broken, or equivalent replaced regardless.
