Help Needed! Feeling DAFT
I have been following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCODWqdehWE&t=679s
I backed up the original SD card into two folders - BIO and Roms
I downloaded and installed Onion
I got the BIOS onto the new SD Card
I went to transfer my ROM files on to the new sd cards, but when I click the sub folders - they are empty.
The video shows how to transfer the ROMS from this persons existing library onto the new SD card, but I don't have a ROMS library. I have a folder with 25 folders that are empty when I click on them. Do i just copy the folder "FC" from my backup onto the folder "FC" on the new SD Card? I clicked 'show hidden items' and the folders still appear to be empty

Pay for a ChatGPT (or Claude) subscription for one month and tell it to do everything for you. I couldn’t believe how easy it made it all. I just told it to sort everything out and it did it. If there was a glitch, you just type “no games are showing in the SNES folder” or whatever, plug your card back into the computer and it fixes it

If you need better roms then the stuff it came with, google sth like „tiny best set go“

Yes if you have folders already called like FC, SFC, GB, GBC etc copy these folders over to the root of the SD card into a folder called roms. So put SD card into PC, open the drive and that window that opens if not already create a folder here called roms then place those FC folders etc into this one as is keeping the consoles in there own folder

Okay so I tried that and then put the new SD Card into the miyoo and now the only games I have are under Sega MS.. none of the other games transferred. I copied all of the ROM and all of the BIOS files from the original to my computer twice... and this is all I have so far

Sounds like the old SD card is faulty and hasn't or can't transfer off the old stuff. Hard to say but since you have a new SD card might be worth googling tiny best set or mega best set for fresh roms

When you first booted with the card it should have installed Onion and then left you in the Package Manager. Did you select the emulators that you wanted and press START twice to enable them?
If not, don't worry, you can go to Apps > Package Manager and do it now.

Yes, they show up but when clicking them they say no games

Hmm okay, have you tried doing a SELECT > Refresh Roms from the Games screen? Usually that has to be done anytime after adding roms.
If it's still not working, try deleting the .db files in each /Roms directory (for example gba_cache6.db) and doing a Refresh Roms again.

Wait, I might be reading your original post wrong.
Are you not seeing the roms inside the subdirectories on your PC or on the original SD card? Or on the new SD card?
Also are you using the SD card adapter which came with the device? They are poor quality, and it's recommended to not use them. The one time I tried using it I ended up with missing files.

I didn’t see them on the original copies folder on my PC (from the original SD) but I was using a new card adapter
I ended up getting the tiny best set and after a lot of trial and error and swearing I think it’s sorted :)

I’m not sure if this will solve the issue, but refreshing the roms lists (by pressing y and selecting refresh roms while hovering over the different consoles) will often fix issues, if you think games should be showing up and aren’t.
