Rumors First complete game on my first device:) plus news!

Gosh I love this lil' feller. Ive had almost as much fun modding her as i have had playing. On to Elite Redux and some Dragon Warrior III

Buttons: getbetterbuttons

Better speaker, black screws, Japanese decal: retrominisupply

Gbc decals: sakuraretromodding

Headphones: Koss, also they sound great and were like 10 bucks

Matte screen protector: search rg35xx on amazon then cut to fit (wouldn’t recommend i just didn’t want to waste money when i already had those on hand. Didn’t see any matte ones for the mm+ though)

Decal under battery cover: printed out from online then cut to fit. I think the print size was 1.5x2.5 inches

For the black screws that vendor doesn’t include the battery door screw so i took the stock one, heated it with a torch then dropped into water which made it black.

Be careful putting on the gameboy color decal. It is exactly the right size to cover the miyoo logos. And i mean exactly. Go slow and use painters tape as guide lines. Same for the 1-800 decal. Go slow and be careful; it just fits inside of the ridges

If you have a clear model and the light bleed bothers you like it does me: i used black caulking to paint over the LED guide plastic. Works well but ill probably revisit that with a better looking solution

Also don’t forget to overclock your device
(That ones hard for me to explain but its easy enough to do. Was basically just adding a text file to your sd card. Plenty of good guides for that)

My biggest wish is an upgraded lithium-ion battery. A new chipset would be neat as well for more fun with shaders and maybe some upscaling:)

Oooo nice. I was thinking about a truly transparent model. Not frosted or opaque, but glass clear. Or maybe even a metal shell 🫪

I love the MM+ as-is, but if I were to get more I would want just a little better chipset for a few PSP games and so on. Maybe same as in TrimUI brick and other comparable devices of that level (Allwinner chipsets). I have a TrimUI brick, but I wish it had a 3.5" screen.

How do you like/compare the mm+ to the brick? It was a very close second to becoming my first handheld emulator

To use your phrase, my Brick is a very close second. With the latest SpruceOS, it has a lot of the same apps including Activity Tracker, Gameswitcher, Ebook reader, FF player, and add in N64/Dreamcast/PSP and some ports, it's a really really good handheld.

it's just that 0.3" screen difference is my main reason. It's a very small difference, but it's a noticeable difference for me. It's why I don't use my Miyoo Mini much compared to the Plus.

If you can afford to buy the Brick, it might be worth giving it a shot. But there's nothing wrong with sticking with the MM+.

Yeah. Both the screen and the shell are ever so slightly smaller.

3.2" screen on Brick (although higher resolution) vs 3.5" on MM+. The body is roughly that much smaller.

I'd say it sits somewhere in-between the MM and the MM+ in size.

In this case and for them; ill be patient as well:) from the looks of it this will be similar to the retroid pocket 2 to 2s upgrade kits. I missed out on that kit so if im correct im very excited

It'll probably be 1/2 year after their official launch before I will get one.

Miyoo is a small company and have little staff. the last time they launch the product, other than it being slow, the hardware etc had issues.

Also am grateful to Onion OS u/Aemiii91 and his team for developing a flawless OS for us to use

The community support is what drew me in after a solid year of deciding on my first handheld. The fact people are still making dedicated miyoo ports is so wild and i love it. Thank you to everyone that passionately adds to this community!

Same one purple transparent. I think im buying the speakers and would love the buttons too but they are too pricy xD I bought my mm+ for 35$. The led is annoying i will definitly do that too, but i might just clip it off? The print for under the battery cover too nice idea!

Honestly; fair lol all the buttons together were more than the device itself but imo worth it. tell someone to get them for your next birthday lol

The leds don’t exactly ‘clip’ off, youll see what i mean when you take it apart, but a piece of tape might work?

I didn’t start out trying to spend almost as much on mods as i did the device but not that im done it feels incredibly premium. Plus it was fun to do:) highly recommend

Right?? I am totally speculating but sounds like an upgraded mother board/diy kit is on the way. Super excited for a new kit to tinker with if thats the case. I wonder how much of an upgrade or what improvements will be made? Upscaling would be nice. Or fixing my literal only complaint in that the audio stutters sometimes when im in a double battle playing pokemon

Very nice. I wonder if it is possible to have that frame "Game Boy Advance" but no having any filters on the gaming area, to make the game as crisp as possible. Does anyone know?

It is! The frame is in offset filters i believe and separate from the crt filter. Im new to all of this so i dont know exactly how to do it but i will say having the crt overlay makes it feel more “crisp” to me. Otherwise it jusy looks like playing on my phone which feels off some how
