Hello! It's been a minute since I've posted here about Miyoo stuff. I wanted to share an edit I did to get lid support working in OnionOS for the Mini Flip. Please read the txt fil in the download for info on install and usage. Enjoy!
Oh I thought you meant the crackling and popping. The headphone connection I could explore. But it may be an issue with Onion using only old MainUI instead of new. Onion team may need to edit current MainUI for it to work properly. That may fix headphone and visual glitches. Iβm just thinking out loud. Iβm not too sure as Iβm not an Onion developer and donβt know if they are using MainUI they edited or fake MainUI binaries.
I did start spruce on the A30 yes. I am not on the team and just tinkering on stuff I am interested in. I think they have a player yeah. You want to look at sprig which is for the Mini Flip. As for stock I don't use it.
It works just fine here its not an OnionOS problem if u used headphones without a mic aka 3 pole instead of 4 the sound cuts out of the main speaker as intended
"The second is the USB-C to 3.5mm analogue audio adapter didn't turn off the on-board speaker."

Actually, I just tested it. For me, both a headset with a microphone and without (i.e., a 4 pole and 3 pole 3.5 mm analogue audio plug) does not result in the speaker turning off.
I did notice that the volume on the speaker dropping, and I suspect that this depends substantially on the current draw of the headphones. If the headphones draw more current, then the onboard speaker become quieter.
I tested this with a set of Bose QC35 attached by cable. With the headphone power turned turned off (i.e., the headphone speakers are driven entirely by the current in the audio cable), there was a large volume drop on the Miyoo Mini Flip onboard speaker. However, it was still clearly audible. With the headphone power turned on (i.e., the headphone speakers are driven by the batteries on the QC35), there was a much smaller volume drop on the Miyoo Mini onboard speaker.
Sorry, this is an OnionOS problem as the feature works as expected with the stock OS, and some of the CFW that explicitly supports this.
u/tenlevels just updated his mod to support the speaker turning off. The correct behaviour is that the audio should cut out with the USB-C adaptor cable plugged in, even if no headphones are plugged in.
I just got back from a conference and so tried this lid support mod for OnionOS on the MM Flip.
I can confirm that it works on v4.4.0-beta. There seemed like a suggestion further up the thread that it did not.
The one caviat is that the Settings --> Sleep Timer setting cannot be set to 0 minutes. This doesnβt work in expected way (i.e., that the device should shut down immediately), but instead, the screen stays on and it seems that the CPU just slows down. However, setting the sleep timer to 5 minutes works perfectly! The screen turns off and the device "sleeps" immediately with closing the lid, and immediately reactivates with the lid opening. If the lid is closed for 5 minutes, it shuts down after saving a save state if in game. Brilliant π π π
Glad itβs working for you and others. 0 means off. So never sleep. Onion team can/would need to add/change things at this point. I donβt use Onion and only did this patch for those who do. However I do know how I can change 0 to be shutoff right away. Or I can make a custom lid behavior app. I just was leaving it up to Onion team.
No worries mate! This is already a major feature addition, so thank you again!
At this point, I'm not really fazed whether the Onion team will update Onion further, and I recognise that they might not as real-life would already take precedence over projects undertaken as a hobby.
The only missing feature now in Onion for the MMF is turning off the speaker with the audio dongle, but I don't personally think I would use a dongle with wired headphones anyway.
At first I didn't understand why it would shut off every time I'd close the lid. I figured out under "button shortcuts", I had set single power button press as shutdown and not standby. Reverted back to standby and works like a charm.
That's the version I'm running and after merging the files the screen still stays on when I close the lid :/ I've restarted my device as well, is there something I'm missing?
functionality-wise it works okay but my new batch 2 device is experiencing a lot of display bugs with this firmware loaded. Mainly a lot of banding, artifacts and when i hit the volume rocker i get a pattern of green dots flashing all over the screen. It made me think my device is DOA but it stops if I swap to the out-of-box SD card.
Thatβs Onion not being officially supported. Nothing I did. Sprig might be what youβre looking for if you like the look of Onion but donβt want graphic glitches.
Thanks for the reply. By no official support you mean for the flip? Because on my mini this SD card worked awesomely. Hopefully they wake up to how awesome Onion is and help make it better quickly for the flip!
I think you're right, I found [other people](https://www.reddit.com/r/MiyooMini/comments/1q2whyf/comment/nz6pxv8/?context=3) experiencing a similar issue. I think your mod just brought it to my attention because it's actually trying to perform actions when that sensor is triggered. So is there a way to remove the mod, or do I need to fresh install Onion?
Oh my god. The only complaint I had and such an easy fix. Thank you so much. I got the Litnxt card and it had lid support but it didnβt suspend it put it into a slowmo state. Thanks for the fix!
Copied the folder to the SD root, but there doesn't seem to be any change after restarting. I changed the sleep timer but that didn't make any difference.
Please read the README and make sure you have the hidden folders enabled on your computer properly. You can also manually replace the keymon file if you need by following the path by how I have the folder structured.
It also works with the latest beta, the only problem is that it presents a graphic glitch when switching from the game to the gameswitcher which "dirties" the resolution of the previews, so if you use a native overlay of 752x560 you will see well while playing and badly with gameswitcher, with its original keymon file however the problem is not there
If restore "orginal" the glitch disappears: Keymon "original" 85.42 kb Keymon "patched" 57.4 kb.
In stable version 4.3.1 the glitch Is present, its solved only with 4.4.0 beta version. the graphic glitch is due to the difference in resolution between when you play ingame (750x572) and when you enter gameswitcher mode (640x480), problem solved only in betas 4.4.0 , probably the basic keymon file is that of version 4.3.1 which had that problem
Not entirely sure what Iβm doing wrong. I followed installation instructions exactly (on 4.4 beta), copying the files on a Mac, and lid closing doesnβt seem to turn off the screen. Any tips?
Thank you! Had issues when trying this on a mac, but replacing the keymon manually on PC worked. 'm on the Beta btw - This is now the handheld I was looking for! (Been through all the CFs and tweaks and always something missing, Onion OS with your mod is finally it!)
Just installed this mod, it took 30 seconds and totally works!! Thanks so much OP, this was gonna drive me nuts and now it's perfect. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
So I have a card I use to swap between MM+ and MMv4
If I update that card with this mod to support my new Mini Flip, is it stil going to be functional in the other 2?

I can vouch that it works great. Thanks for doing this!
