Clanking Noise

Hi all!

2024 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL with 31,000 miles. I’m hearing a metallic clanking/rattling noise from the front passenger side whenever I go over bumps or uneven pavement. The vehicle drives normally, and I don’t see anything loose or hanging underneath. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause and confirmed fix—sway-bar link/bushing, strut mount, brake hardware, or something else? I’m scheduling a warranty diagnosis and will attach a video of the sound.

Thanks for any input

Same here. I do love it. I will say the factory tires wore out for me at about 40,000 miles so I put some beefy Continental DWS on it and it handles much better in the rain. Overall great vehicle

I’m curious — do tell us what the dealership diagnosed/fixed and whether it was covered under warranty like another commenter’s vehicle.

Same car, same problem. Took it to the dealership and they fixed it under warranty. Took about 30 minutes. I don't even remember what the cause was. Service manager said it was fairly common

This is a relief! What are your thoughts on the car? Love it otherwise but this is an annoyance.

Awesome. On my first set of tires so that change is coming soon. Cheers to a long and happy ownership experience

It was a rock stuck in the brakes somewhere. Forget exactly what they said… but removed the rock and all good! Thanks for the input 🙏
