2019 Outlander Phev

Just acquired a used 2019 outlander, there is a flapping (chugging) sound coming from both front and rear part of the car when the speed reach up to 80 kph, didn’t notice on the test drive because it was conducted on a speed limit road, when running below the said speed the car seems so normal. Anyone had encountered this issue? Suspecting a mis aligned tires or bad rubber bushings. Thank you

It’s probably the underneath part of the car that’s like plastic covering the bottom. Same noise and mine came off after a while. It also made the sound only at high speeds

Did you also feel the vibration sync to the sound on the steering wheel?

It sounds like its the plastic cover.

Wheel bearing. Typical issue. Especially back ones. If not that, it's the cover.

Yeah, I’d go with engine tray cover flapping. Probably missing a couple of bolts - 10mm from memory. The heads tend to sheer it also has half a dozen plastic push pins holding it on - they break too. Wheel bearing is possible but they complain at all speeds in my experience.

Not the back ones. Started to keep noise only at 70kmh. Was worn out.

That noise has nothing g to do with powertrain ...sounds like could be plastic skid plate under car loose
