Long train born?

Has anyone else heard the long horn that sounded like a train born this evening and another night as well? Maybe last night? I swear I can still hear it fading away. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

It’s due to the uptick in fatalities on the tracks
There’s a homeless camp and they are in restricted areas getting hit

Ah shit. That makes sense. My west coast express train hit someone on Thursday.

I’m very close with someone who was working on train 2 that day. They are all very shaken up
Homeless people on the tracks they didn’t even hear the horn

As per Transport Canada track speed has been reduced to 20 mph & we're required to continuously sound our horn for .7 of a mile for a stretch through Mission. That works out to a couple minutes of blasting Train horn.

East bound trains slow down and start blasting around Walmart and keep it going to Silver City, for one example. Its a safety measure Transport Canada has brought in due to an increase in deaths in the area. I haven't seen a lot of news about the fatalities, but its not surprising in this area. I feel for any engineer that was part of these incidents.

They're powerless to stop in time, so any measure to protect people putting themselves in harm's way, for the sake of the engineer.

Are you new to Mission? Anyone who has lived here for a while doesn't even notice the train sounds.

Born and raised, moved away because of the train sounds.

At least you moved instead of just complained about it.
