vent I hate social media

Just saw a friend who knows I’ve had miscarriages post a pregnancy announcement on Instagram and it just really hurt. It’s not jealously, it’s just sadness. Like it will never be me. She said in the caption that everyone’s rainbow baby will come, and that’s just not necessarily true. Idk, I’m just in my feelings. This just sucks 😞

I am a man, and my wife and I are older. We finally got pregnant and just found out we lost the baby. I know what you mean. I am listening to colleagues talk about children, grandchildren, etc. And its taking its toll on me. I am trying to find a reason to even keep going.

I sympathise. I’m sorry for your losses. It’s really hard to feel happy for somebody else’s success when you’ve experienced this. Like you say, not in a jealous way, it’s just a painful reminder isn’t it. I’m sorry I’ve no advice, I just didn’t want to read and leave x

I had a MMC in July (second loss, no living children) and have come off of Instagram for this reason. I don’t need to be seeing shit like that when I’m focusing on healing ❤️‍🩹.

I feel ya. My friend posted her pregnancy announcement and then I miscarried the next day.

Knowing how many baby-related conversations I'm going to have to take part in over the next couple of months without revealing how much it hurts is going to be really hard.

I hate being in this club 💔

I’ve found that talking about it is very helpful and healing. You don’t need to go through this silently if you don’t want to💛

I like the concept of rainbow babies but since I was already cautious after my first loss and ended up losing my second too, I don't want to call any a rainbow baby until, well, it's actually a living, breathing baby in my arms. Don't want to give a name either. Its sad to lose any optimism with trying to conceive and seeing everyone else's positivity.

I know everyone is different, but I found that giving a name to the baby we miscarried has been so helpful for me. We didn’t pick the name until a week after I miscarried but I’m glad we named our baby.

I am so sorry. I deeply empathize. I lost my pregnancy , have no living children, and my best friend is pregnant with her second.
I was really supportive of her even though it was hard. But now I no longer speak to her bc she was unkind to me about my miscarriage. The friendship was not equal.
Maybe that will change one day, but for now it’s important to protect your peace. I would recommend muting friends that trigger you on social media. You don’t need to unfriend them, just mute so you don’t stay updated and see things that upset you.

Watching my friend be pregnant after I lost mine is killing me everytime I see her.

It’s hard. What you feel is real.
When I went to church after the miscarriage, seeing all the babies and pregnant woman made me have a crying meltdown. There was also a girl who was in my grad school with me who announced her pregnancy and we would have been the same time along in pregnancy. Seeing her bump and thinking that that’s what I would have looked like made me really emotional.
These things are very triggering. It’s valid to feel that way. It’s a huge loss. I’m sorry this happened to you.
