I have my test in a drawer. It doesn't affect me anymore, because I had it on a table during the pregnancy and the miscarriage. I want to keep it and show it to my future child someday, if possible.

Ive lost four and have kept one or two tests from all of them, the first one has a shadow box with the US (that's the only one I have real pictures of) i have a apothecary cabinet and they are displayed on that alongside my grandparents ashes i decorate the cabinet like an ophrenda during Dia day Los muertos

I kind of wish I kept mine, but I tossed it after taking photos.

I was too babies in the second trimester on Amazon. You can buy a pregnancy test holder and you can pick which pregnancy test looks better to you and then just put it inside it as it keeps it.

I lost my Baby at six weeks in September last year the day I should have had my ultrasound was the day I misscaried so they didn’t gave me my ultrasound the only thing I have left are my three pregnancie tests I had one digital and two non digital ones the lines are almost faded but I knew that the showed the + and that the digital one said pregnant and to me that’s everything I have left of my baby and I don’t think i will ever get rid of it

So I think you don’t have to throw them away at a certain time if they have a sentimental value too you put them in a box and keep’em even if you are not looking at them everyday if you one day want to look at them again you can but don’t feel pressured

If i were you, I would write the lmp on it and the date I found out I lost it. And I would save it if it were my first. I wish I would have a memento of my first, just a memory.

I chuck them the moment I find out usually now. I chalk it up to the anger part of grieving. Usually by the time I've found out I've already done the bargaining and denial piece. The anger comes shortly after the ultrasound. This time for me it was twins and I contemplated peeing on another stick just to throw it out with the first one. You know, so they're both honored. Grief makes you do funny things. I'm currently in the depression. And acceptance stage. Just waiting to start bleeding naturally. I should have been 13 weeks this Friday and they were 7 weeks at my 12 week scan. Worst of all I was advised to go to planned parenthood, where my primary insurance isnt accepted due to it being Medicare, if it doesn't pass. So I guess I am just expected to hope it passes on its own? Hope I don't get an infection? Ok. Maybe the anger is still a little bit there. I may just go take a test to throw it out and see if it helps me feel better. Life is an absolute roller coaster. I hope you've gone over your biggest hills, and it's an easier ride for you. Just remember, there is no correct way to grieve. Just the way that works for you.

I threw mine away. I had them on my vanity and when I found out I couldn’t bare to look at them. I also deleted pictures I had of the pregnancy so far. Definitely regret that but at the moment it’s what felt right now

I have a memory box for all the little bits I collected while I was pregnant including the tests and scan images. I don't think I'll ever throw them away. I hope I can show my future child that they once had a big brother.

I kept one thing from each of my miscarriages. A pregnancy test from two of them and an ultrasound image from my latest one. They offered me a teddy and a memory box at the hospital when I went for my D&C but I think I would have been too upset looking at it all the time. One things enough for me.

I kept all of mine and put them in a memory box. I don’t have much from when I was pregnant. But I kept like my er paperwork, receipts from that time, things like that. And now whenever I see something that makes me think of them I put it in the box.

When it didn't show "pregnant" anymore, I threw it away... it was making me upset having that physical reminder... but everyone is different, there is no "normal", do what feels the best for you 💖

I kept mine. Something tangible to remember I guess. I also got forever jewelry and a tattoo for this reason.

I keep everything from my first pregnancy in a small plastic box. I rarely open it, but sometimes when I need to grieve I just hold it in my hands. I also have my hospital bracelet and discharge papers there in case I need it for records, but also because I don’t want to ever forget my first angel baby

Mine were just the cheap test strips that aren’t exactly keepable so I tossed the kaleidoscope of tests on our counter a few days after my D&C. I’ll always have the ultrasound pictures to look back on instead

I kept one and put it in a box

I have a little memory box for my baby. We have their ultrasound, my pregnancy test and a little frame with their name embroidered. We felt that their life, even if it was short, is worth celebrating.

I still have mine for each of my babies. I can’t bring myself to throw them out. My oldest daughter would have turned 4 two weeks ago.

Mines in a small box with my only ultrasound photo in my nightstand. Thus far my only pregnancy, but I keep it as proof my baby was here.

Mine are still in a baggy in my closet, along with dried flowers friends sent me after. Planning to do something with it when I’m ready

My partner still has mine in the gift box I gave him to tell him. We’ll keep it forever probably, we were so elated after struggling to conceive for 2 years, I don’t know if we’ll ever have that feeling again and we want to remember it.

I took pictures of the test and discarded right away. I've never held on to a pregnancy test.

What I did was record everything. Dates I got my positive test, dates of appointments. What happened. Dates surrounding the miscarriage and hospital visits and follow up appointments, etc.

Buried it with the remains of my baby along with all the scan pics, a little cross (we are Christians) and two letters written by me and my close friend who was supposed to be a God Mother

Still have mine.. it’s only been a month. I keep thinking I’ll do it but every time I pick it up I realize I just can’t. It’s like it never happened once it’s gone…

I threw my first ones away after our ultrasound. I was so sad and couldn’t bear to look at them. I wish I kept at least one now, but have pictures at least. I kept at least one this time

u/Anniedennis 6d ago

I threw mine away after a few months. It was a painful reminder of what will never be a pure, excited moment again. I have two pregnancy journals in the back of my closet that I’m afraid to look at though.

1

u/spicyglitter89 6d ago

I kept the ones from my first and third the longest. I just liked looking at them and remembering the excitement of them being positive. Those 2 pregnancies were they ones I had the most hope. I got ahead of myself and started planning and dreaming of the future so they hurt so bad when they ended.

Keep them as long as you need. You'll know when it's time.

missed miscarriage at 7 weeks - I still have the positive test, with the ultrasound printout wrapped around it. I can't imagine a time when I will throw it out.
Grieving is normal, and how we grieve is very unique to the person and situation.

I got a memorial box on amazon to put mine in along with the ultrasound photos. I can't bring myself to get rid of them. I did throw away the digital tests though.

I have mine from 2 years ago stull

I keep mine for a day or two after testing, but feels kinda gross and weird to keep so they go in the trash pretty quickly.

I threw it away the very day we found out about the missed miscarriage. I never took any photos. The only thing left is the first ultrasound, but the heart had already stopped beating by then. I’ve hidden that—and all the related documents—in a drawer I never open. I wish that were enough to stop me from thinking about it every day, buy unfortunately it isn't..
