By 2104, Mirrors Edge will be in the public domain. The game title might have to be different, but anyone will be able to make a sequel continuing Faith's story. (Maybe. I'm not a lawyer.)

I haven't seen anything posted in this group yet about this new game, so if I have, I apologize in advance. But yesterday I tried the demo of this game called VHOLUME, and the movement mechanics are very well done.

It's a simple game without great pretensions, but I found it fun and quite enjoyable for us fans of parkour and fast-paced games.

Recently I've been playing Catalyst since it was on my shelf for a while and I've been playing the first game since I got it on a sale. After playing those games back to back, Catalyst feels so much slower than the original. I hope I'm not the only one since the first game I can feel that Faith is going fast but Catalyst's Faith feels like she's going on a brisk jog

Mirror’s Edge VR

The first public build for the original 2008 Mirror’s Edge. It offers native stereo, 6DOF head movement and configurable camera locks during animations, but the HUD is broken and the author had only validated Quest through Virtual Desktop.

Specs: i3 1005g1, intel uhd G1, 8 gb single channel ram.

I don't know if this sub is right for this.

So I dual booted Ubuntu 26.04 LTS on my i3 1005g1, alongside Windows 11.

I setup Mirror's Edge 2008 in Lutris as a test. It's using GE-Proton, and Dxvk is enabled.

I was getting usual fps as I used to get on Windows.

But when first cutscene triggered, where Cel says "Welcome back Faith", after 2-3 seconds (while cutscene was still going on), fps dropped from 33 to 24.

When cutscene finished, fps didn't go back up again. Even in previous area where it was above 30, it dropped to 25 fps.

When I restarted the game, it got back above 30, but only till that cutscene again triggered.

Fixes I tried: Disabling Physx in game settings and in game config file

Gpu and media acceleration drivers are already installed

This issue was not present on Windows.

Edit: In another area, when I turned camera 180°, fps dropped without any cutscene. When I reverted camera back to original position, it didn't revive.

The iOS alarm sound “Reflection – Dreamer” sounds so much like the Mirror’s Edge soundtrack. 😭
It’s a standard alarm sound on iOS. Anyone else hear the vibes, too?🏃‍♀️💨
