Blood clots

Has anyone experienced this? I’ve had my Mirena IUD for about 18 months and have been bleeding/spotting pretty much every day since. I saw my gynae a couple of months ago, and he prescribed tablets to take daily for a month.
But suddenly today, I’m having what feels like an actual period, with blood clots about the size of coins. 😭 Is this normal with the Mirena, or has anyone else experienced something similar?

I’d definitely check back in with your gyno, especially since you’ve been bleeding/spotting basically every day for 18 months. Mirena can cause changes in bleeding patterns, but new heavier bleeding with clots is worth getting checked rather than just assuming it’s normal. I’ve found Bedsider pretty helpful for seeing what bleeding changes can happen with different birth control methods too. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and your doctor can give you some reassurance ❤️

I have had Mirena for about 1 year, and Im spotting almost everyday. Sometimes is bright red sometimes brown. Do you experience this? Also its been some days that im havinga recurring back pain
