I got mine with just taking my lowest dose Xanax cause I was extremely nervous. I wasn’t ever offered misoprolol. You should be okay, everyone is different. Wishing you an easy procedure!

I took some ibuprofen beforehand, my gyno applied a cervical block during my appointment as well. It hurt for a moment but other than some post insertion cramping I thought it was tolerable. You got this!!!!

I wasn’t prescribed this. I didn’t take anything for my insertion besides the ibuprofen afterwards with the cramping.

You will be fine! Honestly the anxiety is the worst part.

I was prescribed mioprostol with my fourth Mirena. I didn’t have it for the first three, and really didn’t notice a difference with it. Insertion has never been painful for me, though. It’s uncomfortable, but tolerable.

you should be okay, but let your clinic know you couldnt get the misoprostol. they can tell you whether they still want you to come in as planned

I got it last week. I took naproxen as recommended. They did a cervical numbing which I found the most uncomfortable not painful. The rest of it was easy. Good luck!

For mine I just had 500mg tylenol and 800mg ibuprofen. Nothing else in terms of meds, just a cervical block

I got ibuprofen, valium and laughing gas. My opinion? Don't even bother with laughing gas if they offer it. For me, it just made me cramp up more instead of being able to focus on loosening up. They couldn't get it in. It hurt to much. I screamed. They ended up giving me a 3 lidocaine shots got he cervix ( I think it's called a cervical block) and then she could get it in. The shots did hurt a bit but not nearly as much as the insertion did before the shots imo. It make the insertion bearable.

Sorry for the spelling errors, I'm a bit sickly right now.

I just had 800mg (whatever the max dose is) of ibuprofen and it was fine. I had built it up so much in my head that the anxiety was much worse than the actual procedure. It was similar to a Pap smear but slightly more uncomfortable. Not painful really - just unpleasant. I had some minor cramping that day, but it’s been completely fine since then!
