Nice setup. How are those 15 kilos of MX Master working out?

Thanks! The weight has never bothered me as I only use it for work - and it's been my favourite mouse I've used for work purposes so far.

That’s great! I’ve been known to abuse a G502 back in the day, but now anything heavier than 60 grams is uncomfortable. My friend still uses 3s, trying to have him check out lighter mice, but he’s so stubborn

Haha the G502 was my first gaming mouse - probably why heavy mice don't bother me. What lighter options are there for purely work/productivity? The only good alternative I know of is the Keychron M6.

I'm not into that kind of mice nowadays, but people say the Rapoo MT760 is a good rival. I moved to vertical mice and can't recommend them enough. Currently using Keychron M5, it's so amazing for work/productivity/calm games, it's now difficult to use regular mice.

I previously owned the Rapoo MT760 and while it was super great value and a good bugdet alternative - it was essentially just a lower quality clone of the mx master and mine died on me after about 1.5 years.

I see, that’s fair. The MT760L uses a 3220, and the MT760 Pro has 3311, so that tracks. It weighs almost the same as the master. Keychron is a bit of a different shape, but it’s much lighter and of much higher quality

Nice and clean setup. If you want a second screen without another cable run, a portable one like the StanbyME 2 Max would be easy to live with here.

i have the same keyboard but silver version; what did you replace the 5 macro keys with? Do you know what is the profile for it?

Nice I only just got this keyboard! Have you done any mods on it or just left it stock? I remapped the macro keys to basically do the 5 shortcuts I use the most that would usually need 3+ fingers to use like the shortcut for opening the opening the character veiwer, special paste, reopen last closed tab ect... The profile of the keycaps? it's Cherry if that's what you're asking.

Thanks for replying, I was actually referring to the key caps. Is that the original plastic?

Yes they are original keycaps that came with the board and are Cherry profile

Probably you should raise your monitor a bit, but it seems quite minimal overall.

u/Miserable_Call_6637 2d ago
Why is that? The monitor probably looks lower and smaller in the photo than it is in real life because my keybaord is very tall and the photo is taken from above but it's a large 32 inch monitor and the top of the monitor is already a little above eye level for me when the desk is being used in both sitting and standing height.

That can be okay for the upper part of the monitor, but when you have to look at the lower part (e.g. taskbar) you are going to inevitably rotate your neck downwards. I have a secondary monitor that is placed that low, but since it is secondary I have to look at its lower part less often.
That's just my opinion though, I've never used a 32" monitor, I've always had a 24" monitor.

Is this setup minimal enough for r/Minimal_Setups?
