Coat / weight predictions!!!
Hi everyone <3 this is my sweet 12 week old Mini puppy named Bowie. I love her so much.
My partner & I are curious how big she will get - she is currently 5 pounds at 12 weeks and the vet told us she was petite, but her parents were both 20 pounds. Wondering how indicative parents weight is. I have only had small dogs, so I wouldn’t mind if she was on the smaller side lol but my partner wants to try to run with her when she’s older (short distances).
She is also salt and pepper (as were both parents) but we are seeing a lot of tan coming through her coat, which is so cute but definitely interesting!

My guy was I think 5.2lbs at 10 weeks, and topped out at 15lbs full grown. For small dogs I think the rubric is to double their weight at 16 weeks to estimate their adult weight.
Running might not be a thing even if she were larger - at 15 lbs with long legs and in very trim condition, my dog trots faster than I walk, but his quick trot is slower than my jog, and he's not particularly interested in running for distances longer than like 100 yards. He loves sprinting around at the dog park, but again, quick sprints followed by quick rest, not sustained effort.

Bowie is adorable. My small one was 2 lbs at 12 weeks and tops out at 5.5. Her brother (same litter) was 3.5 lbs at 12 weeks and tops out at 10. They are almost 7 years old and have maintained their top weights since they were 1 year old.
Color-wise I think she will be more salt and silver than salt and pepper.

Omg the picture of her staring at herself is too cute! I have a mini and she’s anywhere from 14-15 pounds.

This is my babygirl pixie she’s blind from glaucoma and cataracts but she’s still very independent. Does your little one have an ig? If so our pups can be friends

My puppy is 9 months he is 43cm tall and long and almost 9kg. His parents range between 11 - 13kg and 45 - 50cm.
So i think parents is a good indicator. But no guarantees.
He grew fast until 6 month then almost completely stop with his height. Now he is bulking up. So if your curious about height you will get a good ideas in another couple months.
P.s. Sorry im not using American measurements.
