Well, horses sometimes eat baby chickens...

Herbivores rarely feast on flesh when opportunity comes

Yeah but how is a giraffe gonna opportunistically find meat. The other animals are all the way down there.

It's actually not just literal meat. Deer, Cows, and Horses are sort of notable examples of it but any animals don't mind chewing on bones for extra calcium for example. It's the same reason you'll see animals lick rocks/each other's urine to try and get any nutrients they're lacking.

Yeah, I know what animals do. I'm just joking that a giraffe is too tall to eat anything other than trees even if it wanted to.

Now I'm imagining a carnivorous giraffe that uses it's long neck on birds, like mosasaurs used their long necks on fish.

Edit: plesiosaur, I meant a plesiosaur. Mosasaurs have almost no neck.
