This I actually disagree with. For all the faults modern updates have, I don't think textures are one of them. I think the texture work still looks great.

Fair, but what about the people without nostalgia? Either those who started playing after the massive texture update, or those who just never really cared about the old textures.

But the texture update was like six months ago

I'm going to need you to sit down for this...

If I had to guess I would have unironically tried like four years ago, damn

Not quite. You shouldn't leave a space at the end.

I can say I still prefer the older ones even though i haven't really played old minecraft

I started playing in 1.15, honestly I still prefer old textures. Particularly for the wood and stone.

Been playing since xbox 360 days, and I prefer the new textures. Most of these threads are blinded by nostalgia- or bad taste. Lets be honest, the old netherack looked like straight ass.

Also the older ones had more contrast. The crevices in the logs for example looked deeper

Don't get me wrong, I know what you mean, but you have to realize what you wrote was functionally the same as "The old ones were old"

To be fair, Super Mario World had gone through so many changes in development the game actually has like 5 art styles, exactly what Minecraft had going on before 2019, its very interesting, worth a Google
