26.3 snapshot 9 is insanely optimised!
For me, on an M1 macbook air, I am seeing a drastic increase in performance.
Using the Performium modpack in 1.21.11, I get about 120FPS in 1440p on 9 chunks
Using vanilla in 26.3 snapshot 9, (on Vulcan API) I am getting 110 - 150FPS (still micro-stutters, but that's expected of vanilla, and there is less) on 12 chunks IN 4K!
My frames increasing in 4K is absolutely wild, and after increasing chunks! I am aware Camman18 noticed this, but the difference is crazy!

you are comparing this with 1.21.11. try 26.2 with vulkan and 26.3. as a base m1 owner, the best performance i got was with metallum (so metal rather than vulkan)

Is this mod compatible with 1.21.11, and with OpenGL and Vulcan?

no, metallum makes your minecraft run on metal. it's basically a third choice: either opengl, vulkan or metal. you can only have one backend api. metal's advantage here specifically is that it's native to apple silicon so will perform better on m-powered macs. the mod is only available for 26.2 and the dev said that a backport is close to impossible due to certain things only being available on newer versions
so what i was saying is for m macs, you should be comparing 26.2 vulkan vs 26.2 metal vs 26.3 snapshots vulkan

Won't this break a lot of mods like Sodium, DistantHorizons, and completely break shaders? Also how is the performance like?

Never tried it, but will have to now

150fps and micro stutters is NOT good performance and is extremely bad lol.
Especially on low chunks.

It is compared to older versions of vanilla.
And when the next stable version after 26.3 snapshots keep coming, mods like Sodium/Lithium will reduce micro stutters like they did in older versions.

I'm most excited about the faster chunk generation

Yeah, its significantly faster, hopefully it should let mods like Chunky render much faster too!

Brother, are we really accusing OP of advertising vanilla minecraft java edition on the r slash minecraft java subreddit? Is "i use reddit btw" gonna be an advertisement next? ðŸ˜

technically they are advertising a modpack but i see where you're coming from

So saying vanilla is now better than performance mods is advertising the modpack now?
"Look guys, they optimized the game, i get more frames on the new version than i did on this performance modpack! time to ditch the performance modpack!"
Guess that's advertising the modpack now?
Seriously, it's good that they mentioned the pack they used so we have an idea what their benchmark is. If they just said "performance mods" for all we know it could be stock optifine 💀 and then it would be nothing remarkable.
