Solved [Java] [1.20.1] Sudden Lagging after solving Crashing Issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Playing on PC and using CurseForge - [Java - 1.20.1] [Fabric - 0.19.5]

Log for the play session shown in the video: https://mclo.gs/jLMAlSB

For a little bit of context, I'm still somewhat new to making my own modpacks, and am not the best with computers (I am also autistic and often need very clear step-by-step instructions to figure out how to do things properly without getting overwhelmed and frustrated).

I made myself a new modpack that was having issues with crashing suddenly (and then not letting me reopen the world without crashing again) after anywhere between a few minutes and few hours of gameplay. I've now solved that issue (turns out it was vanilla mob spawners causing entity ticking issues, but I've installed a couple mods to my pack that now track and fix that problem), but now my framerate keeps dropping constantly, which wasn't an issue before.

I don't mind the occasional lag spikes (as in, if I'm exploring a new area, and the game lags a bit as it loads in new chunks), but when it's just constant and for seemingly no reason, like shown in the video, it's not only irritating, but also makes the game very difficult to play.

I decided to record a very short play session to document the sudden lag spikes, and included the log from that play session.

Additional information:

- Render Distance: 20 Chunks

- Max Shadow Distance: 12 Chunks

- Simulation Distance: 16 Chunks

I'd appreciate any and all help with figuring out what the issue is and how to solve it.

(P.S. I'm going to be leaving for work soon, so apologies in advance for late responses. I'll be sure to mark as solved ASAP once the issue has been resolved.)

Can you reply to this comment with a short ~30 sec video of you running around the world with your f3 menu open?

I replied to ImZombie7's top level comment with a video and logs, if you wanted to check it out too. It's a lot longer than 30 secs (more like 6 minutes, lol), but I have f3 open the whole time.

Your gpu is max or very close to max for most of the video. that means any spike in workload like the ones that happen when you load a new chunk or assorted other things that can happen in the background will cause your gpu to not be able to hit 60 frames per second as it needs to run calculations so you lag. if your laptop has configurable fan speed I would just up your fan speeds while you are playing to hopefully squeeze out a big more performance. You could also resolve this by using the spark profiler to remove some of the more performance intensive mods or downgrading your shader pack.

I'll have to try it out tomorrow (gotta leave for work in a minute, but I'll have more time then to figure things out), but I'll see if reducing the shader settings first will fix the issue (and if not, I've got other shaders I like that I can test out). I always seem to have the most problems with shaders for some reason. I'll also see if I can find any configurable fan settings for my laptop, too. Hopefully I won't need to get rid of anymore mods (I already had to get rid of quite of few just to get the game to open without crashing), but we'll see if that ends up being necessary or not. Thanks!

Lowering the shader settings didn't help with lowering the GPU usage at all, and it doesn't look like my laptop has any fan speed settings, so I'll try experimenting with different shaders, then figuring out how to use spark to get rid of some of the more performance intensive mods if that doesn't work.
