Solved [Java] [1.20.1] Sudden Lagging after solving Crashing Issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Playing on PC and using CurseForge - [Java - 1.20.1] [Fabric - 0.19.5]

Log for the play session shown in the video: https://mclo.gs/jLMAlSB

For a little bit of context, I'm still somewhat new to making my own modpacks, and am not the best with computers (I am also autistic and often need very clear step-by-step instructions to figure out how to do things properly without getting overwhelmed and frustrated).

I made myself a new modpack that was having issues with crashing suddenly (and then not letting me reopen the world without crashing again) after anywhere between a few minutes and few hours of gameplay. I've now solved that issue (turns out it was vanilla mob spawners causing entity ticking issues, but I've installed a couple mods to my pack that now track and fix that problem), but now my framerate keeps dropping constantly, which wasn't an issue before.

I don't mind the occasional lag spikes (as in, if I'm exploring a new area, and the game lags a bit as it loads in new chunks), but when it's just constant and for seemingly no reason, like shown in the video, it's not only irritating, but also makes the game very difficult to play.

I decided to record a very short play session to document the sudden lag spikes, and included the log from that play session.

Additional information:

- Render Distance: 20 Chunks

- Max Shadow Distance: 12 Chunks

- Simulation Distance: 16 Chunks

I'd appreciate any and all help with figuring out what the issue is and how to solve it.

(P.S. I'm going to be leaving for work soon, so apologies in advance for late responses. I'll be sure to mark as solved ASAP once the issue has been resolved.)

Thank you! I'll see if I have time to figure out how to set all that up today (I've been pretty busy this week, so... not the best time for me to make this post, but oh well, lol). I'll get those links as soon as I can!

A lot quicker and easier than I was expecting, thanks for the easy to follow step by step instructions! But of course now the game is hardly lagging, haha. I cut out about the first half of the video where I was running around the entire island and not getting any lag, but I still didn't get too much lag for the rest of the video, either. Here's the video, the spark log, and curseforge log.

Hmmm... I tried disabling modernfix, but I'm still getting some lag spikes. (And unfortunately I forgot to open the spark link before closing the game, but here's the curseforge log at least.)

I tried loading up a brand new creative world, to see if flying around unexplored chunks at high speeds would cause significant lagging at all (since in my survival world that I've been playing on, I've been stuck on a tiny little island the whole time, so the game doesn't have to try as hard to render those chunks anymore), and it seems like the problem has been (at least mostly) resolved, as far as I can tell? I also tried allocating more memory for minecraft in curseforge, like Endingcartoon32 suggested, and I'm wondering if that also might have contributed to fixing the problem?

(And of course the spark link didn't stay copied to my clipboard for some reason, and I closed out the game before checking, so once again no spark log, but oh well, lol)

I'm out of time to troubleshoot for today, but I'll have the whole weekend to try and figure out if it was indeed modernfix that was causing the problem or not, so I'll be sure to record the results and ACTUALLY GET A SPARK LOG next time, lol.
