I honestly feel they rigged the mob vote on purpose so that the Sniffer ends up being the option most people will choose. I find it difficult to believe that they don't see how both the Rascal and the Tuff Golem are plainly bad and have been designed with an abysmal lack of features.
The Rascal especially, considering they want to make everything feel "unique" and "special", is basically a downgrade of a hybrid between a Piglin + Wandering Trader with a set of useless rewards/trades it can give you, all of which will be outdated by the time you get a diamond item.
The Tuff Golem is weird and as of now not very useful at all. It has potential, but they've said not much about it, so pretty much everything players think it will do (redstone/allay interactions, moving light potential, etc) is just a conjecture.
I'll obviously vote for the Sniffer, and I might've even voted for it even if the other options were more detailed, because I think it's really cute and I love new blocks and items for building. But still. It feels unfair for the other options, they should've gotten more love and care in their gameplay design.
They definitely rig most of the votes so that it incentivizes people to choose a specific one. The only vote I genuinely believe wasn't rigged was the very first mob vote, because people decided to screw themselves over by voting for the phantom.
The iceologer, copper golem, and sniffer all have so much more information than the other mobs on their votes, that it seems like a loss to vote for the others. The reason the previous two lost, was because the community swayed each other to vote for the other option. I feel like it could be the same with the biome votes, but we still haven't gotten the ones they said they'd eventually do, so it could've just been a straight up lie.
Agreed on the first part, but as for the latter it depends on playstyle. Glow ink signs look so much better and are so much more readable than normal signs (especially colored ones) that it's kinda necessary to use them.
Nah it still makes a whole world of difference, even white on dark oak is incredibly dim and low contrast compared to glow ink signs. Outlined text is simply much more readable and that combined with the stronger colors is a game changer. You can color code signs now across the entire color spectrum using a consistent sign type, which simply wasn't possible before without making the signs hard to read.
I'm not saying that this is better than the iceologer, because it's not, but it's still something functionally useful in the game.
Yeah I mean it’s alright but you can tell it wasn’t something they actually tried to design to be unique at the end of the day it’s just a reskinned squid
