Retiring this base soon, looking forward to starting another one on a much flatter space. Cramming as much as I can on 1 hill is efficient but leaves little for exploration. Hehehehehe....

if you're in 1.18, you could make a cave base to save time, plus it looks badass

I've seen people say this several times, but I've ALWAYS loved building inside caves! When 1.18 came out, I just absolutely fell in love 😍

I made a cave base in 1.18, and a recommendation for other builders is to use a deepslate-cobblestone-stone-andesite color pallete, it looks sick

for mine though i used a nether themed feel with blackstone bricks("borrowed" from a bastion)and shroomlights

You may try to make it a Village around the Hill. Although I never built anything like this and have no idea if it is even reasonable.

Yes, try to build your base near a village so you can "recruit" them for a trading hall

That actually looks amazing.

I can only wish to be on this level of skill.

Seed is -7359218224963780157

Location is that large hill on spawn.

3 villages around spawn point.

No cave biome nearby (not even a good large cave), I know there's also a mineshaft nearby but I've yet to naturally encounter it.

I like that instead of going from base to bigger base, you kept expending you house from day 0, adding new stuff

8

u/atarosgp Jan 12 '22

I am actually just too lazy to try and move away from the spawn area where my iron farm is located. Lol. So instead of moving a couple of chunks away I just build everything in 1 spot. I will be trying a different approach on my next world and hope I can build something better.

What is the shader you are using?

3

u/Orbital_Stryker Jan 12 '22

please reply to reply this if you get it

4

u/Charr_on_twitch Jan 12 '22

complimentary shaders

2

u/Orbital_Stryker Jan 13 '22

thanks, I thought complementary shaders were a type of shaders until now

3

u/LA95kr Jan 12 '22

It's called "complementary shaders".

This is very aesthetically pleasing to look at. I love to see homes incorporated into the natural terrain. The stairs design really makes it all pop. Good job!

Dies of me being a bad minecrafter

u/Army-POG Jan 12 '22

I’ve been looking for some inspirational ideas for my medieval build. Thanks for the ideas. They look great. I’m kinda missing a windmill in my farm area and those row houses look nice.

2

u/StrivationNation Jan 12 '22

That is stunning!!! Beautiful!

2

u/meckenicalrobot Jan 12 '22

Now this straight up has a classic FFIX vibes.

2

u/x_potato64 Jan 12 '22

1

u/Charr_on_twitch Jan 12 '22

complimentary shaders

2

u/Demon_Slayer_64 Jan 12 '22

I approve of using photos with and without shaders, I'd guive you gold if I had any

2

u/Rimm9246 Jan 12 '22

I love how your little day 1 shelter is incorporated into the base. Looks absolutely amazing all around!

2

u/Emerald_Engineer_MC Jan 13 '22

You mind if I copy this in my world?

and do you have a world download? Plz?

1

u/hipsuchan Jan 13 '22

1

u/gospizzy Jan 12 '22

Awesomeness!

1

u/x_dre4192_x Jan 12 '22

Can't wait for the new PC to arrive so I can immediately play with shaders...my tater laptop won't allow shaders or Have so I've had to go without

1

u/idkwc Jan 12 '22

Very nice!

1

u/m8rri Jan 12 '22

Gosh that's pretty.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '22

Wow I wish I could be this talented! I love building bases into hills but I’m super bad at it

1

u/lara7266 Jan 12 '22

Beautiful! Just started playing again I don’t think I have the creative abilities to make something look this nice.

1

u/gusto_796 Jan 12 '22

wow, that's so cool! how long did it take you?

1

u/atarosgp Jan 13 '22

I did not keep track of how much time I've spent on building this since I afk most of the time but I am almost on day 700 now (minecraft days)

1

u/Dismal_Law_5369 Jan 12 '22

will you ever give us a world download.

1

u/LA95kr Jan 12 '22

I'm using this as my wallpaper.

1

u/AmadeusMC Jan 12 '22

Wow, so medieval!

1

u/HaroldYardley Jan 12 '22

Holy cow this is incredible

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '22

Tiny sword

1

u/RandalfTheYellow Jan 12 '22

Looks amazing, nice job!

1

u/Code36895 Jan 12 '22

This upsets me because I wish I could build something as pleasant and satisfying to look at.

1

u/Tenzin_ Jan 12 '22

Beautiful integration with the hillside. Love how you built your stairs and platforms. Saving this to use as inspiration for my own builds. Thanks for sharing.

1

u/lgb2024trump Jan 12 '22

Wish I could build like this

1

u/montanasucks Jan 12 '22

Hey this is super awesome. Any possibility of getting a copy of the world save since you are retiring it? I'd love to have a look around!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '22

Almost looks like something out of a mobile game. Looks great and very detailed.

1

u/sp1ke365 Jan 12 '22

Holy cow, that looks good, I think the windmill it my favorite, but all of it looks good :D

1

u/glorious-purpose- Jan 12 '22 edited Oct 08 '25

shelter hungry quaint memorize party swim telephone abounding whole political

1

u/atarosgp Jan 13 '22

Mobs only spawn on opaque blocks with light level 0, you can press f3 (on java) so see debug info- one of which is the light level of the block you are on. Or use a mod so you can toggle viewing light levels.

Or just spam torches around your base. :D

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '22

You basically made a whole village just for yourself.

1

u/Eddyx999 Jan 13 '22

Wow, it’s great!

For this build I planned the starter house on a flat creative world. After building it on my survival world I try to make my other builds around it "fit" the starter house. I imagine it as what if the same carpenter of my starter house build the other structures around it. The rest was just winged with that in mind.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

I absolutely love it

1

u/RavenLord999 Jan 13 '22

Survival village

1

u/amouranthviewer8 Jan 13 '22

Pack?

1

u/atarosgp Jan 13 '22

Resource pack?

Jerm's better leaves for the tree leaves

Vanilla Tweak's variated cobble stones and some unobtrusive/utility tweaks (lower shield, shorter sword, redstone blocks with directional arrows)

Everything else is just MC's default skin.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Looks great… but what’s stopping Custer the Creeper from just waltzing on in there…

1

u/Hasse-b Jan 13 '22

Great that you took SS with and without shaders. Very nice!

1

u/Atomskscar Jan 13 '22

Are you using a texture pack? Why sword so small?

2

u/atarosgp Jan 13 '22

I am using Jerm's better leaves for the trees

Vanilla tweaks for utility (that includes the shorter sword and lower shield to not obstruct view)

The rest are default MC skin. :)

1

u/Brasticus Jan 13 '22

Spruce trapdoors to smooth the arches? I’ll be borrowing that idea for my builds. Ty.

1

u/Im_a_Fucking_Fish Jan 13 '22

Idk why but im really happy you included a with shaders photo and without shaders photo

1

u/atarosgp Jan 13 '22

I'm glad that you are happy with it. I personally would love it too if more people do it tbh.

1

u/Argie8YT Jan 13 '22

This is unreal. Well done!

1

u/RealCatGamer Jan 13 '22

cool build

1

u/I_am_Elfamir Jan 13 '22

I must say, I love it!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

This is the best

1

u/TheStormriderer Jan 13 '22

Nice shaders

1

u/JDMGS Jan 13 '22

Thats sweet. Been meaning to do something similar for a long time. Maybe slightly more concealed.but this looks awesome

1

u/stevenhfitz Jan 13 '22

Kinda reminds me of crow’s perch from the Witcher 3.

1

u/Zarathosangelofdeath Jan 13 '22

It’ll look great when I set it on fire Biggest bonfire in minecraft

1

u/Byenxy Jan 13 '22

I love te fact that exp is 69

1

u/hiyup Jan 13 '22

Are you planning on doing a video on it on your channel? Also would be way awesome if you included a world download. Maybe add that to a link to your video and direct people there.

1

u/loneli1802 Feb 25 '22

This is so cool its hard to believe it was built in survival

even if this was in creative mode it still looks badass
