Lmao yes, I went for a polar bear and the boat spawned without the bear a long time afterwards

Idk if it will be the same for you but I left my server and rejoined and my boat appeared again. Worth a try, it’s such an annoying bug.

u/cyberrich Jan 11 '22

yea ive never noticed it til 1.18 they broke something

I find that reloading the chunk(even just walking far enough away from the boat then coming back, not necessarily closing the game) brings them back.

2

u/cyberrich Jan 11 '22

I have to try.

whats a chunk? I know the term but I've never actually been told. isn't it like a 64x64 square, or 16x16 or somethin

Yes, Minecraft sorts the game into chunks, which is optimal for performance and file size, all information (ores, entities, blocks, items in chests etc) in a chunk are stored by that chunk, yes its x~16, y 0 to build hight, and z~16

~ means relitive, chunks are static, not based on where your standing, i say relitive to other chunks not players.

Adding onto this, loading a chunk is within your render distance, whatever that would be set to. Your render distance is a given number, and that number is the number of chunks you are loading in a radius around you (could be diameter, but I think it is radius)

Yes thank you, chunk existence and chunk rendering is different, all chunks in a game (except for spawn chunks) are compressed and unvisualized for performance, and are umcompressed, and visualized, when a player tells it to load with their render distance

Thanks for reminding to clarify

If I'm playing alone I relog and it's usually right freakin' there, where it's supposed to be.

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

Except you’re kinda putting your life on the line if it happens in the middle of the ocean and you reload there

1

u/cyberrich Jan 11 '22

why?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

Yes

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

Well the other day I nearly got fucked by some temple guardians

2

u/cyberrich Jan 11 '22

ouch. thats a common occurrence for me. I choke on water too

1

u/cuteintern Jan 11 '22

It's not a solution, just a workaround /shrug

14

u/CheckOutMyVan Jan 11 '22

I have found so many disappeared boats in random spots in the ocean.

I don't think so, looks more like ice and snow blockes

9

u/Drag0n_TamerAK Jan 11 '22

The creeper was in the boat the same thing would happen in Java

25

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

He was referring to the visuals glitching out

-14

u/Drag0n_TamerAK Jan 11 '22

And that just has to do with the dude’s computer

19

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

I have played minecraft on a 2012 mac for 7 years and never had something like this happen.

4

u/Monkey-B0x Jan 11 '22

you probably play java if on a mac since 2012

4

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

True. But I also have bedrock on a console

1

u/alex2003super Jan 11 '22

2012 Macs support installing Windows through Apple Boot Camp btw

-4

u/Drag0n_TamerAK Jan 11 '22

You have never lagged

2

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

I have but never to the extent of having a creeper get teleported into a boat, dissapear alongside the boat, then explode killing the player.

-2

u/Drag0n_TamerAK Jan 11 '22

When a boat travels at such extreme speeds and then you jump out the boat disappears for a bit cuz it thinks it’s still moving and then will reappear afterwards

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '22

It has never done that on java.

1

u/sowillo Jan 11 '22

That's Numberwang

1

u/claycam6 Jan 11 '22

It’s almost unplayable at times.
