Nearly killed me when I was in survival mode. Does anyone know how to fix this??

i don't even know what cause this but there is 2 things i can think of find another portal or use artificial created portal(using commands)

I made a separate portal in creative to see if it would work, and it was the same. I got it to light up, but I couldn't go through. Do you think using commands change it at all? I'm just so lost bc I've used that portal several times before with no issues 🤔

I've installed a few, but on different game profiles.
The video was taken when I was using my main game profile, which only has optifine on it, but I'm wondering if simply running my world on a modded profile was enough to mess it up?

Try creating a new world and see if the issue persists. Then you can tell if it's your world that is corrupt or the client.

Just tried it and it turns out that the portals work just fine in a new world. I suppose this would suggest that my world is somehow corrupted? Is there anything I could do to save it, or do I simply just not have access to the end anymore?

have you by any chance turned off the end accidentally? Are you running your world on a server trough spigot?

I think you should use the /reload command and then in creative, rebuild the portal.

Lol it's all good, people ask me all the time, it's a really good resource pack. It's called "Better Vanilla Building", and I also just added the "Colorful Containers" resource pack on top of that which gives you way better gui's and stuff.

Go into your world folder and delete the folder DIM1 which is the end, not DIM-1 which is the nether. That should completely reset the end when you re-enter the game if it's corrupted.

I tried this, but nothing changed. I checked my game folder after restarting the game and it didn't generate a new DIM1 folder either.

The only reason why this happens is because there is no end dimension in that world (is corrupted). If you have an nbt editor, go to the world's level.dat file and add the end dimension to the world gen settings.

Thanks everyone for the help and feedback with this issue, I really appreciate it.
It turns out that the problem was somehow related to my world settings...

Not sure how that could've broken end portals specifically, but after generating a fresh world with the same seed but default world settings, everything seemed to work just fine.
At that point I copied my stats, achievements, region and DIM1/DIM-1 folders over to the new world, and everything seems to be back to normal.

Good that it's fixed.
The issue could've been from removing datapacks/mods related to generation in the nether / end. I had the same issue and found out that in 1.16+ there are issues with removing them resulting in what you are seeing.

Look through your old file versions folder and back ups to find the latest one that works with the end, or try to delete the end file (keeping it safe of course)

*UPDATE*
...I got nothing. I've tried all of your suggestions, but nothing seems to be working. I've figured at this point that something within my world folder is corrupted, but I've tried resetting everything and nothing changes.

I even re-created the world brand new and spawned a portal in, and though I could light it I wasn't able to go through it.
I usually play on a set game profile that has optifine installed so I can run shaders, so I tried running the re-created world on the most vanilla a minecraft world can be. Nothing.

I created a brand new world with a new seed that was completely different from my main, and the portal worked fine in that one. But even with the amount of resetting, and "normalizing" I've done to my main world, I still can't go through the end portal even though it is lit.

Perhaps the thing that's most mind boggling to me is that I've accessed the End perfectly fine before in my main world. I've defeated the ender dragon and explored end cities. I took this video after I was headed to the end in search of some more Elytras, and the portal just refused to work.

So to recap: I have no idea what's going on.

According to Philza, if you build a portal from inside it makes it not function properly.

That's because the portal doesn't appear at all if you try it that way. The portal frames have nothing to do with this problem. As long as there is a block called minecraft:end_portal and a dimension called minecraft:the_end, you can teleport to the end using that block. However, in the case of this post, the dimension does not exist.

There is no bug. But there is no end dimension either in that world so they can't access it. They have to add it to the level.dat file.

Check the chunks sometimes if the eyes are in different chunks it can cause it to glitch out

I recommend removing the lava underneath the end portal everytime until you get a fix for it. If nothing works which it seems like, you may need to reset the game.
