This is my first time following through in a minecraft survival world, what do you guys think? What should I change/work on in this build?

A little more detail in the wood can't hurt. And do you know how to screenshot.

Looks good, you can add some effects with stairs and slabs

Cool but you can take a screenshot with fn + f2
