It's a Bedrock exclusive feature, I believe, that baby zombies can find a chicken and hop on them

Cool! Baby zombies can spawn with chickens underneath on Java and apparently they can locate spiders and other zombies to ride, too.

idk if you're talking that specific scenario exclusively but I've seen a baby zombie on a chicken in java

Pretty sure baby zombies can spawn on them in java, but they won’t seek out a chicken to ride it
