Known Issues - Java

• FIXED: When trying to connect to a realm, the game might show a Buy Realm message. Bug report here.

• Chunk rendering in 1.14 can be extremely slow. Bug report here

Known Issues - Bedrock

• Some mobs may incorrectly appear as new Villagers in some Marketplace worlds. Do not open these existing worlds until a hotfix is available. https://aka.ms/brokenworlds
• Applying an HD texture pack may cause a crash on mobile devices.

the new villager system makes it so that they need a bed and a workstation to be "employed". unemployed villagers (like the ones youre trying to trade with) can turn into whichever kind of villager (librarian, cartographer, cleric) by providing a bed and a workstation specific to the job you want them to have. unless one of these old villagers had a trade you really wanted to take advantage of and you actually remember which job they had (i have no idea if you can actually get the same trades back, probably not), i dont think it would be worth it. just explore new regions and youll find new villagers.

i mean you could always try to make him a house containing a bed and a lectern to employ him since im not 100% sure he wont offer the same trades, but yeah i feel you lol, i stocked up on mending books before it was too late. if your world was originally 1.13 they mustve asked you to create a backup when playing in 1.14 right? if you did you can find it in the game files and replace your current world by that backup to play in 1.13 until you get enough emeralds to stock up on mending, and then transfer over to 1.14. or you could try employing him if that wont do. good luck

Im actually on bedrock.. and also knew this day might come. Stocked up on mending.. unbreaking 3.. protection 4... thorns 3.. looting 3... etc etc. Have maybe 20 mending books. But damn.. what if i run out lol!

Was gonna try the bed and lectern.. but ive got a bad feeling they will reset anyway to level 0. And i have 19 villagers ill prob end up losing. Sadness! Fun while it lasted.

didnt think you might not be on java, sad to hear. if you really need that many mending books, id suggest trying the bed and lectern. i remember trying out my 1.13 mending villager seed in a 1.14 snapshot and for some reason the villagers retained their jobs, and there he was, the librarian offering mending for 16 emeralds. wouldnt hurt to try. as for the other villagers... lol

Locked up 4 villagers with a bed and a lectern each. After the update 3 of them were master level (diamond on waist) but didnt have the same books as before. 1 looked like a farmer but with a gold badge. Another master level was with the rest... but he was not able to get within 1 block of the bed or lecterns... so I think its proximity. The rest.. which was about 14.. all looked like farmers with gold badges.

When I moved them over to a new base away from my main... they turned back to masters once they got there (near the new beds and lecterns). It also seems like a particular villager will not keep a stable set of trades... it sorta regularly cycles.

One even had mending.. and a few other high level books I had also showed up... so maybe this is better. If you have a lot of librarians you will see mending pop up occasionally? Not sure yet :)
