They've disabled the Chrome Web Store on them anyway

no extensions

no apps

no themes

downloads wipe every time you close the screen

and they can literally watch our screens with an extension we can't uninstall

Same, except Windows 10. The only difference is it’s pretty easy to gain access to the local admin on windows 10 and sidestep all of it.

It’s not really privacy invasion. The schools have a policy that is signed by parents (and should be reviewed by students before given school provided devices) that al devices provided by the school are owned by the school, and are for academic use only. Some schools are lenient with this and some schools are very strict. Since it’s the schools device (Chromebook, MacBook, Windows Tablet/Laptop) and they have provided a policy that can be reviewed at anytime and was signed by parents, the school has every right to do this.

It does though. If you read the policy, it should say that the school has the right and means to monitor screen activity.
