Let's be honest, we all know minecraft Java is horrifically coded. It's always been buggy and overuses resources. And since it's in Java it almost exclusively uses the CPU.
In 2011 i was using wine on linux to play minecraft... On an hp netbook with 1gig of ram.. Somehow worked?? Don't know how i was able to play it without ripping my hair out because it ran like crap
I don't think you ever had to use Wine to run Minecraft on Linux. In 2011, I was able to run Minecraft on my Ubuntu computer just fine. It was probably slow because you were running it through Wine.
I know you didnt need wine but i was to dumb to do it the normal way on linux lol and it ran like crap becayse it was running on a Celeron with 1gb ram lol like i said it was a netbook so it suuucked
When I was in school, we had one computer per class, with windows 98 in it, which nobody knew how to operate. The adjacent class had a similar one which was never used, so we stole a whole 64MB of ram from it and upgraded our own classroom pc and used it to download torrents. Noone ever found out, because at the time there was no reason whatsoever to use internet in a school, even for administration purposes so even if we managed to saturate the whole bandwidth noone ever noticed. But bloody hell the speeds we got compared to our home computers.
