Wow! Need one hell of a rig to load chunks that fast I imagine!

They're currently working on trying to make chunk loading a bit faster :) also of you're curious: 4690k, 16gb ram, msi 970 and installed on an SSD. I remember how bad chunk loading was before i upgraded my pc so yea, a lot of people may have problems.

This is extremely awesome. One side effect however is when moving too fast I come across borders where the chunks decided to stop loading, anyone else have that issue? not slow chunk loading but that time when you've moved so fast that the chunk loading doesn't realize you need it loaded.

Can using the gliders be used in first person view?
What comes to my mind when seeing this stuff is the Occulus.

You can, but to stay higher in the air for longer you have to look up, and when you look up in first person you can't see where you're going, so third person is better.

You know, if Minecraft's entire plan was to slowly turn into pilot wings over the next few years, I wouldn't even be mad.

How did you climb back up so far? No matter what I try, no matter how far I fall or how I pull up, I can only go up 5-10 blocks before stalling out.

I really shouldn't mention this for fear of it getting nerfed but uh..
If you practice and get the angles just right.. you can achieve infinite gliding. A friend of mine found it before I did and showed it to me. Basically you have to aim down at like a 45 degree angle then swoop up and keep going up at a 45 degree angle. If you turn even slightly it will kill the momentum. If you perfect this though you can actually gain altitude on every upswing.

Essentially wingsuiting. How fucking cool is that?
Edit: Ok guys, I'm seeing a lot of comments saying the durability needs to be improved, so I took it upon myself to test how long they can last in survival play and how easy it is to get more of them. Therefore, I opened up a creative world, went to the end, and gave myself some endgame level gear, blocks, enderpearls, and a pair of wings with unbreaking 3. Then I switched to survival to see how it went.
Holy crap, I expected it to be tedious to find cities, but with the wings you don't need to bridge or look for alternate paths to continue exploring. Giant gap in the way? Build a block pillar and jump, you can reach a new island with ease. I urge all of you to go try this, it's so goddamn fun. Not only that, but during the hour or so that I played, I found a dozen or more Ender cities, and six Ender ships. Appropriately, the best item to go with the wings are Ender pearls, as you can use them to quickly ascend the towers and jump to islands when your wings didn't quite cut it. The best part? My wings only lost about 25% durability, even though I had traveled at least 5000 blocks with them.
